Since the front office can't make any trades happen, Brandon Beachy just DFA'd by Dodgers, would be an interesting pickup

I really think it's not that they can't make trades happen (2 this week now), but that they can't make the Mets not be, well, the Mets.

I'd love Beachy just because he has historically owned us

I think Beachy is done. He was pretty good for a few years, but multiple TJ surgeries in a short time make me think it's pretty much over for Beachy. I could see them giving it a shot on the cheap, but the odds of me winning the lottery are probably better than Brandon being an effective pitcher.

The "arms market" is going to be very strong this winter. That will leave numerous options available to fill out a rotation fairly cheaply without rushing up guys and perhaps getting a guy that can be flipped a year from now. Kind of scares me though that Lohse might have a wink-wink agreement for a minor league deal with Brewers next spring and that's why they haven't cut the cord.
