  1. Freddie is not a fan of our ballpark and doesn’t pick the ball up well, don’t see him accepting a trade here https://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/freddie-freeman-rips-miller-park-little-league/366439
  2. I really don't care for anything the Yankees will be offering I would think the Twins would maybe need to sign Donaldson for this to add to their infielder depth, but I really want a deal done with the Twins focusing on Luis Arraez and Brusdar Graterol with another lower level prospect or two. Arraez is an absolute hitting machine, as a 22 year old this past year hit 334/399/439 with a 123 OPS+. He played 17 of 95 games at 3rd without an error. Throughout the 6 years in the minors he averaged 331/385/414 and I don't know how he was never a highly regarded prospect. I would put him at 3rd and not look back. Move him to 2nd if the DH opens in the NL and move Hiura to DH. He is pegged as the starting 2nd baseman this year for them, so they would need to fill that gap, possibly add Orlando Arcia to the trade who could fill in at 2nd. The Brewers definitely need more contact and OBP guys to fill their roster. Graterol hits 100 routinely and mixes in a hard slider, slower curve and changeup. Gets a ton of ground balls and could be a "Future as a frontline starter". Ranked as the #53 over prospect in baseball. He could start in AAA and be with the big club later this season, or be a part of the bullpen right out of spring training. This would be two immediate impact players for the ball club, both with 6 years control. Add in another lottery ticket or two which Stearns is great at finding gems. Looking at the Twins bullpen, recently signed Tyler Clippard and Sergio Romo and they have only one impact left hander in Taylor Rogers. I'm sure they are looking to expand on their 101 win season from last year.
  3. If they have an inkling that the DH might happen in the NL in 2021, could always rotate him between 3rd and OF for a year, then DH starting in 2021, gamble, but might be worth it to get his bat in the lineup
  4. He had two serious injuries last year for pitchers. At that price, glad he’s not a Brewer.
  5. Big fan of trading for Camargo. Hopefully Donaldson signs soon and the rest of the 3b dominos start to fall in place.
  6. Am I off base in saying that any deal for Ramirez would probably have to start with Hiura+? And, I'm sure that would be a deal breaker for Stearns. Ramirez is controlled for 4 more years at a relatively cheap price (for a guy of his ability). Not sure if the Indians would have much motivation to move him at this point. If Hiura was off the table, I'm guessing we'd have to package Urias, Small and Feliciano. And honestly, I'm not even convinced that would be nearly enough to get Ramirez. Unfortunately, our farm system is just so bad right now that it makes it nearly impossible to put together trade offers for guys of this stature. I think the only way you get Ramirez is if you bring in a third team to offer prospects to Indians and that third team gets Hader, we get Ramirez. Would be awesome.
  7. EE came out a few weeks ago and said he'd only want to play for an AL team. I'm thinking the Brewers might have leaked this to gain leverage for a FA or trade. Hopefully for a trade as no one on the FA market really excites me at 1B
  8. we are being told by beat writers that its close. the brewers or his agent hasn't said anything. I don't think we clearly know where they are in negotiations. i woudn't read much into the fact that this was reported 3 days ago and nothing has been official. I think the only thing that is clear is that the brewers are interested. Haudricourt was the one I believe that said that negotiations were intensifying today, based on his track record of never knowing anything, he has no clue and was going off of info from Friday. Now if @BrewerWorld came out and said it, that's different

  10. I would hold out for Luis Severino or Gleyber Torres if dealing with the Yankees. Does Hader and Urias for Torres even start a discussion?
  11. Don’t know how to link tweets on mobile, but @redsoxstats said Boston is floating that they’d be offering David Price and attach a younger player like Benitendi to lower payroll, both controlled through end of 2022
  12. 4.7 bWAR in 2018 OPS+ 2016 - 120 2017 - 112 2018 - 128 2019 - 121 Only 27 years old
  13. With the Diamondbacks depth at IF, wonder what the cost would be for Eduardo Escobar to man third as a trade target. Switch hitter, 269/320/511 last year, 35 HR's, can play multiple positions. Seems like a Stearns type of target. Owed only 14M over the next two years. The Dbacks depth chart on ESPN shows Lamb as their starting 3B and Escobar as their 2B.
  14. Cron had what was described as “significant” thumb surgery by Thad Levine. Those can be pretty tricky to recover from, would be worried about his power upon his return.
  15. Wow, David Stearns collecting Thanksgiving donations and making big trades at the same time, talented guy
  16. Surplus: D. Smith - 6.9 Lutz - 7.8 Claudio - 6.4 Corey Ray - 4.8 Trade simulator site would have Lutz as a slight overpay, Claudio as a little below value. I'd trade Claudio and a lower level prospect for sure for Smith. I think Stearns making a deal with Mets in general works out no matter which way it goes.
  17. Maybe for the regular season Two post seasons in a row he showed his inability to manage a bullpen that killed us. Jeffress clearly didn't have it for us last year and he was too stubborn to look elsewhere. This year Hader was not the shutdown two inning guy he was last year. I'd love to see his 8th inning stats because I swear nearly everytime he came in the 8th, there was trouble. Knew it was coming last night. Postseason managing is not the same as regular season managing. Counsell is a better regular season manager than a postseason manager.
  18. DFA'd by Diamondbacks Was a stud in 2017 putting up a 139 ERA+ and 4.2 bWAR Has had a rough past year and a half Is controlled through 2022 though and if fixed could be a quality arm to add to the rotation
  19. Thank you Eye Black
  20. Tried finding some quotes on it, but remember in the playoffs Keuchel came out and said he believed the Brewers pitching strategy was a fad and that it would never work long term. I bet he felt it diminished the value of starters with his Free Agency time coming up. Not sure if his line of thinking during the playoffs would prevent him from choosing us if he had two equal offers on the table, but he clearly wasn't a fan of the strategy back then.
  21. I heard $50 million thrown out yesterday, seems light to me for 15 years..
  22. Rather deal for Robbie Ray if Arizona is dealing starters
  23. I'd like to see the Brewers trade for Cesar Hernandez. Switch hitter, plays 2B/3B/SS, free agent in 2021, down year in 2018. Put up a wRC+ as a lefty vs righty of 112 in 2017(3.1 bWAR) and 106 in 2016(3.2 bWAR) Phillies have Scott Kingery waiting in the wings and Cesar will start to get expensive the next 2 years. With his versatility, ability to get on base, switch hitting abilities, seems like a guy Stearns would want to target. Can man 2B until Keston comes up and can rotate on the infield where needed.
  24. Would the Brewers have the ability to negotiate a contract extension as a part of the trade? If they could do that, I would be interested, but for one year, no thank you. He's had freak injuries the last two years, a liner to his pitching hand and a dirt bike accident. Who knows if his hand was fully healed when he came back last year. Certain risk, but if you could extend him for 3-4 years, he could be our anchor for years. He's still only 29.
