Danny Hultzen Outrighted

He is coming back from a shoulder injury but could be placed on the DL to not take up a roster spot. Could be a good buy low candidate instead of taking a player in the Rule 5 draft. Thoughts?

Such horrid injury troubles though. His days as a starter are probably gone as his arm is just not going to handle it. I'd invite him to camp on a minor league deal if he wanted to. Strictly as a reliever though.

 

EDIT:We would have to claim him and stick him on the 40 man roster for the off season until he can be moved to the DL. I think it is a good idea if they think he is a better option than other Rule 5 eligible players.

I agree. Its all about who is available and how Stearns views them as prospects. IF and its a big if, Hultzen can recover and get back on track his stuff is pretty sick. Again it all depends on Streans.

Perfect opportunity for the Brewers. Talent and potential should trump any immediate roster need. One of the advantages of a rebuilding team, they should take advantage.
