I'll add I'm streaming the game so I'm at least 2 pitches behind everyone...

 

Looked better than Hamilton. Those were some of the worst swings I have ever seen.

 

I would prefer a few more strikes to Peraza.

And that’s why you put Perez in for Shaw.

 

9th inning was when that happened, right? Shaw could have hit in the 7th and still gotten pulled for defense in either the 8th or 9th so Perez still makes that turn.

Nope, but I'd still have let him hit in the 7th and have had him pulled for D in the 8th or 9th and have Perez still make that turn...guess it boils down to me rather having a guy who just hit a HR who is stuck at 2b to try and get as many bats in the lineup get one more rbi chance before getting yanked for defense, even against a lefty, than pinch hitting for him with his defensive replacement.

 

Call me crazy I guess.

I can’t really argue in support of pinch hitting Perez for Shaw in the 7th, but putting Perez in for Shaw defensively in the 8th was the right call. I don’t think anyone is arguing that though.
