We were not out of the division three weeks ago....and still aren’t. A sweep would dramatically change things. If we are still 4+ out after we play them the final time...then yah, sure, then we are virtually screwed in the division.

We did. Go look at Braun's first season (minus the defense)

Solid performance, Woody. Exactly what was needed.

Hopefully that was an audition for the rotation spot between the two of them. The evidence is clear in my mind.

Five games back now and six back in the loss column pretty much makes it an 8-9 game defecit.

I agree that the division is a huge long shot but how do you get 8-9 games out of that? LOL

Because out of those six losses, how many games do you think the Cubs are going to lose once the games played are even? Two at the most, a Lloyd Christmas chance at three.

Well, there is only a 2 game difference, so I’d be good if they lost them both. The Brewers had a 5 game lead at the all star break last year that was erased in a week, so it’s not unprecedented. And we play the Cubs 6 more times. It’s not likely that we sweep them but it is possible. If we do sweep them and play even with them he rest if the year, we will be tied. Again, not likely but stranger things have happened.

Oh they are letting him bat. Hopefully the post stands after next inning.

The Brewers are six out in the loss column assuming both teams hold on to their leads today. Even if we sweep then they are still three out in the loss column. It doesn't change things all that dramatically.

Really? 3 games back with more than 20 games to play doesn’t change things?

Edit: technically we would be only 2 games back, 3 in the loss column.

Sure, just not dramatically.

Woodruff might as well slide into the rotation when it's Junior's turn. For the life of me, I can not figure out why we don't give Woodruff a real chance to show what he has.

He is probably better than what Gio brings to the table, unless we do something magically to turn Gio's poor season around.

Woodruff looks fantastic today and deserves a chance to start. Counsell starting Guerra today was a laughably bad decision at a critical time for this ball club.

Braun and Fielder both. I used to say that for years "when do we get our Pujols". Then we got two at the same time just a notch below that. Still couldn't win.

Yea I'm not one to nitpick every bullpen decision but can't get how 13 hours ago Hader was off limits for one hitter in a one run game but now he's able to be used when up 5.

I know some of our losses lately have been tough to swallow but imagine things in AZ. The Dbacks defeated the Dodgers on Thursday to take a 2 game lead in the division only to lose the next two by giving up some late inning home runs. First Greinke gave up consecutive late inning home runs on Friday then Archie Bradley gave up a late 3 run bomb to Kemp last night. Dbacks lose both games 3-2. Instead of what could have grown to a 4 game lead in the division, the teams are now tied for first. Crazy.

Since when does Mark Reynolds hit singles? I wasn't aware he was allowed to do anything but be 3TO

He’s a guy I thought would eventually just fall out of the league but continues to give teams a quality role player guy. I mean his OPS is mid 800’s

Is it too soon to say this is a nice, relaxing second half of the game?

No, because it has been. Hopefully that doesn't change.

Can't say enough about what Woodruff did today. Really brought a steadiness to the game. Of course the 2 big hits were nice as well. Hopefully we can carry the momentum into this HUGE series coming up. Probably need all 3 to keep the dream of catching Chicago alive.

Two of three! I see a pattern forming. Keep it going.

Hey! Another series win! Weren't some predicting we'd get swept? Outside of us completely blowing game two this Nationals team looks about as energetic as roadkill

Well I spent his entire inning trying to post the hold onto your butts meme(I have trouble trying to figure out how to post things like that) but good job knebel. Hope we can have you right for the stretch run.
