Petricka gets cut loose and they keep Wilson? I never understand decisions made with anything less than the results on the field. Dude is terrible.

Burnes 4.2 IP 0 R 3 H 1 BB 7 K 81 P

Left with bases loaded (walk, single, HBP)

Still struggling with his command 88 pitches only 45 for strikes....'2 hit batters plus the walk

That was predictable. It's hard to argue with the strategy though. Worst possible scenario and we still have the lead.

That was unfortunately predictable. Claudio facing a right-handed hitting power bat with runners on base is a recipe for disaster.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Claudio facing any righty in a big spot is a strategy that is pretty easy to argue with.

The advanced metrics for pulling Guerra for a pinch hitter with 2 outs and 1 on is probably not in favor of that move.

So tired of watching this staff give up gopher balls. :angry

Just DFW Wilson's worthless ___ right now. Completely useless.

Technically, the strategy was for Wilson to get three outs. Claudio having to get two of those outs—one against a righty—was just the unfortunate contingency plan. Plan B’s are Plan B’s for a reason.

So, what should have been done? Give up a dinger to Cano or Conforto instead? Bring in a righty for Wilson to face McNeil?

If this was the postseason/must win scenario one could argue they play the matchups AB by AB, but with a 4 run lead you put Claudio in for Mcneil and let him pitch through Conforto anyway.

Game #28. The Brewers have given up 48 home runs. At this pace, Brewers staff would give up 277 round trippers. 258 is the Major League record.

Wilson should not be on this team right now. Dfa and nobody grabs him. If he wants to stick around so be it. Rather see what Taylor Williams is up to.
