We missed the World Series by 1 game last year and this lineup is better than last year. The offense has beaten Syndergaard, DeGrom, Scherzer and Strasburg this year. They have held up just fine against "world class pitching."

 

We lost a really competitive series to an elite team. Maybe this year it will go the other way. There is no prime of Ty Cobb sitting around that is going to come in and be the difference.

Davies is showing why you stick with talented guys when they have down weeks, months or even whole seasons. There were plenty of people who wanted him gone last year. Still more didn't want him anywhere close to the starting rotation this year. The guy is proving that his solid 2017 season was no fluke.

We lost to the dodgers because we couldn’t hit their pitchers. Period. Our pitching, especially our pen almost won the series despite our lack of offense. Again, im confident Stearns will add a quality disciplined bat, hopefully that will make a difference in the playoffs.

The guy is the hottest hitter in the league with a a man on third and one out against an ultra-finesse pitcher. You'd think the thought might cross his mind that Davies would pitch around him--which Davies tried to do, but Bell wouldn't let him. Unbelievably bad AB.
