Why with Claudio? Counsell has been as bad as his hitters this season.

 

I think the plan was get Votto out. Sort of pitch around Suarez and/or see if he gets himself out and then get Moustakas. Plan obviously changed with no ability to have a backup plan when Votto reached. That's why I don't really want Claudio on the team. He's way too specialized where everything has to go perfectly for him to be usable.

 

He's absolutely useless with the 3 batter rule. Maybe we should teach him to wince and grab his shoulder and motion for the trainers when he loses his man.

At the end of the day as frustrating as it is. Look at the two lineups on the field including on the mound today. One of these two is not like the other. Especially with Hiura having regressed.

Can we win at least 3 of 5 from St Louis? I just don't have any faith the offense can score enough runs to get the 3 wins. And even 3 wins might not be enough to get in.

How many times have we failed to get over the 500 hump when given a chance this season? A dozen?

 

I believe today is eight. Eight freakin’ times.

This was their 9th attempt to get over .500 this season.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Claudio had been pretty good this season coming into tonight......no big platoon splits either.

 

He's got 300 total career innings suggesting he's a LOOGY and 17 this year suggesting he isn't.

 

I'll put a lot more weight on the 300.

Way too early for that. 3 of 5 from the Cards could still get them in.

 

That is the minimum. Might take 4.

I know that Hiura is young and has potential. But right now, he sucks.

 

He didn't help that inning. But he also didn't come in and walk a lefty lefty matchup on 4 pitches and then give up a bomb to Suarez.

 

But then again if he makes a throw a 10 year old can make there would have been no temptation to bring Claudio in.

Can't fire the whole offense. So let's just start with Andy Haines. I don't know if he's part of the problem, but I know his replacement can't get worse results.

We had 3 guys up with a big scoring opportunity to prevent Bauer from getting to celebrate at all.

 

If Bauer wants to showboat, fine by me. Our hitters deserve to see it.

He knows he has a DH and won’t be held to account.

 

He's one of those guys you love if he's on your team, and hate if he isn't.
