2020-09-30 (NL Wild Card Series): Brewers (Suter) at Dodgers (Buehler) [Brewers lose, 4-2 -- Suter’s early struggles prove too much for offense to overcome; Yardley and Topa combine on solid effort out of bullpen]

[Eye Black]

Great work from Topa! He's gone from afterthought to likely a pretty important role in the pen next season.

The identification and development of bullpen talent has been the most encouraging thing I’ve taken from 2020 (along with the continued ascension of Burnes and Woodruff).

I am feeling a Hiura moment.

I was hoping he’d get to the plate last inning.

[willie key]

I just can’t believe how bad hiura is on fastballs.

[djoctagone]

Need to capitalize on that now

never.

I guess I meant in the ninth anyway.

At least he didn't swing through 3 straight chest high heaters for another K this time. Baby steps ...

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

OK Yelich, tie this thing up ...

[Cool Hand Lucroy]

Nottingham overmatched.

The bloom is off the rose for him unfortunately.

He's got a lot of company tonight. This Dodgers staff is good. The fact that they can't find a spot in the rotation for a stud arm like Urias says a ton.

[bjkrautk]

Yeli getting going could be big. Now we need someone to bring him in.

[mtrebs]

Need Yelich to get one more at bat this game. He’ll hit one out then.

Might as well play 12 and let him cycle. Cycles are what matters.

It's been off for awhile. He is what he is, more than likely ... a typical backup catcher who is going to hit around .200 and park one 450 feet once in a while.

The art of the single is just gone

[Eye Black]

That would’ve been a nice spot to have Braun in if healthy.

Not bringing Yelich in feels like missing the fleeting window. The subsequent arrival of Freddy only adds to the ominousness of the moment.

[Bulldogboy]

The unclutchness of this team is unclutch.

I don’t feel good about Freddy, hope I’m wrong, but he hasn’t been good lately.

I think he’ll be okay this time around, he got thrown into the game Sunday very abruptly. Of course I could be wrong.

Edit: I was wrong.

Mookie Betts is so good. It is so criminally unfair that players like him constantly end up on teams like the Dodgers.

To be fair: Yelich, Betts, Trout. Those are the best 3 in baseball over the last few years.

Though I totally buy the point.

[yourout]

Freddy put that on a tee.
