This is becoming one ugly 26 man roster, especially with the pitchers. Is this a normal amount of injuries or have we been ridiculously snakebitten this year?

Pretty sure it's been a lot of injuries.

if jordan zimmerman is on tonight's lineup card and counsell brings him in to pitch, he's gonna be booted before throwing a single pitch.

Ugh... I was excited in ST just because he is a WI boy, but wow, he looked like toast in ST.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

So, I went back to look:

2021: 19 (I believe) with Lauer. 2 guys with 1IP.

2019: 20 pitchers in March/April (1 with less than 3IP)

2018: 18 (2 with 1.1 IP or less)

2017: 17 (2 with 1IP or less)

This is where Stearns/Counsell and Co. make their money. If they continue to win despite being so banged up, it truly is something impressive. They have to be running out of fingers for the dike but you just can't count out this bunch. Next man up!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Zimmermann does join Mike Zagurski as the only Milwaukee Brewers pitchers in history that have a last name starting in Z. Hopefully he does better than Zagurski's 7 earned runs in one inning pitched.

I'll take the under, but my predictions have been quite suspect lately.

If only he had decided a day earlier.......

Well you don't have to worry about him babying his arm. He was ready to retire, might as well throw his arm off now. ;)

Being that he is a Wisconsin homegrown product, I'm excited that he gets this opportunity. A cool ending to a career for the guy. Hope he does well with it.

Completely agree. Dream come true for him to be able to pitch for his favorite team. Good for him. Hopefully he pitches well.

I am happy for him getting to play for the Brewers as a Wisconsin boy has to be a dream come true and I hope he does well. He just really looked done to me in spring training.

I think people are a smidge worked up about this. It's just a guy with a lot of experience getting a spot start. Anybody can have a nice game or two. If they felt they had a better option, they'd take it. And before I get ahead of myself, is he starting Sunday or what?

Kinda cool that he is from UW Stevens Point. Not too often does that happen for an in house COLLEGE baseball team player start a game for the Brewers. Still surprises me that UW doesn’t have a baseball team, considering the large crowds of Brewers (in state) and Mallards (in city).
