Glad the Brewers were able to come out of the break and take this series in Cincinnati, but feeling a little greedy and hoping for the sweep today.

 

The Brewers hitters have a combined .878 OPS against Sonny Gray in 138 career plate appearances and that number includes Avisail Garcia who is just 1-for-20 with 7 strikeouts against Gray. JBJ actually has the most hits (4) and RBI (7) against Gray among the current Brewers. Willy Adames is 3-for-6 with a HR against Gray.

I almost posted a sarcastic “blue” message about a classic Sunday lineup now that the Brewers have won the series. Therefore, there is no reason to treat this as an important game. I assumed that Pina would be starting today so that’s no surprise. I’m also not surprised that Tellez is starting, but thought Wong might be able to go 3 days in row with 2 off days in the next 4. My sarcastic lineup, though, had Hiura at second and Peterson at third and Urias at short with Adames also sitting.

Maybe if they didn't have tomorrow off, but since they have an off day tomorrow, Navaraez is the only one who should get the day off...

 

I mean, they do have both Monday and Thursday off this week, so benching guys for rest in a game that has signifigant importance isn't ideal.
