  1. I’d offer Bauers (Lefty OF) and someone the org isn’t too high on out of the pitching depth. Maybe they can flip Zerpa right away or trade Rob Z. I wouldn’t go much more but I’d offer something, especially from the team’s current surplus of pitching (and lack of power)
  2. Beyond Koenig and Perkins would actually be a good prospect or 2. But Boston could use a lefty reliever and Perkins would be their 4th OF, especially with two lefties and Rafaela possibly playing some IF. But yeah, just because I listed those two doesn’t mean the other piece(s) would just be lottery ticket types
  3. I would ask Boston which of Abreu or Durran they’d be more willing to deal. Then I’d try to see what is needed to add beyond Koenig and Perkins to make a trade happen.
  4. Obviously listen to offers but only pull the trigger if the trade means the Brewers bend the other team over the table and show them the 50 states. shout out horrible bosses
  5. Being a backup to Contreras (who seemingly gets to decide himself how much he plays), wouldn’t be appealing to a Caratini, who should get at least part-time if not more, starts. That is also why it would be better for Quero to start playing everyday in AAA then taking over as backup mid season. Quero would only start 40-50 games if he was the backup all season. since the brewers are so good at improving the defense of catchers, I’d like to see them use their “open” MLB roster spot as a way to get someone like Mickey Gasper as a buy low and low risk backup option.
  6. It’s less likely that the Red Sox would still be interested in paying for Peralta after signing Ranger Suarez. But it still seems crowded to have 3 lefty corner OF for 2 spots and none of them make sense as a DH with defense being part of their value. Maybe a deal can still be had. Personally, I’d like to see Wilyer Abreu come to Milwaukee
  7. You’re right Suarez is not good defensively. I’d sub in for him quite a bit for that reason (and pinch running) But he’s not a DH only, yet. I’m not even saying to get him, just that there is a fit for him. Especially because Yelich should get days off. And someone will be hurt.
  8. He could be the main 3B and part time DH. He could even play 1B if Vaughn gets hurt or turns back into his pre-MLB self. durbin can play 2B with Turang sliding over to SS and Ortiz can be a defensive replacement later. Durbin could also play some LF. and of course, 1 injury makes the playing time issue non-existent. There’s definitely room for a 3B if he were to help bring power. Like suarez or Isaac Paredes
  9. I’ve always thought Durran makes a lot of sense for the Brewers all season. And I think BOS and MIL make sense as trade partners. So I’ve thought of a trade that makes sense for both sides: brewers get: -Jarren Durran and a pitcher they identify (ex:David Sandlin) Red Sox Get: -Freddy Peralta, Jared Koenig (BOS wants another LHP reliever), and Blake Perkins (they need a 4th OF)
  10. I’m torn because this trade seems quite lopsided, but the Brewers seem to know what they’re doing with pitching
  11. I wound think Collins would be of interest as a return piece for Durran as replacement OF depth, especially with the Password being traded today. Collins could also be a possibility at 2B, which is weak in BOS. it would obviously take a lot more, but getting Durran would also mean not needing all of Collins, Perkins, Lockridge, and Mitchell anyway.
  12. With the added benefit of another year of control after a few weeks in the minors
  13. Also the need to only commit to Vaughn for 1 season means they can move on if he doesn’t repeat what he did last year and have Burke/Adams (maybe Fisher) take over late in 2025 or in 26. If he is able to repeat what he did last season, they can QO him and let him walk.
  14. In my hopes of getting an OF who can hit, I wouldn’t tho I any of the Brewers’ defensive OF would bring that back. Maybe Perkins would interest the Red Sox as a part of a Duran trade, for example, but only as a part. I think you have more success unloading Perkins for Mitchell separately and making OF space for a real hitter.
  15. Marte has been so good the last 2 years that even if he starts dropping off, he will be a very good player for a few years yet. In 2026, Turang could play some (a lot?) at SS. Marte played CF years ago and could transition to corner OF/1B in addition to some 2B. Idk how willing the brewers would be to take someone who has been called a diva, though. And, I’m sure AZ would want some real talent for him
