On the subject of runs by inning, I don’t think anything would help the Brewers out of their offensive doldrums than getting 2 or 3 runs in the first or second inning. That might help the hitters relax and concentrate on putting the ball in play instead of trying to hit the big home run.

 

For the last week the Brewers haven’t been able to string hits together, so most of their runs have come on solo HRs or with the aid of a lot of walks served up by Cubs pitchers.

Sadly true. We can strike 'em out and sometimes hit 'em out. But there's not a lot of old (or new) school "fundamental" NL baseball.

 

And I'm kinda sad that Yelich is not in the lineup. Not because it's a bad move, but because it isn't. OK. Uek is talking. PLAY BALL!

I’m mentally unstable when it comes to the Cardinals. They’re 10.5 back and had to win 9 in a row to get to plus 6 differential and yet they terrify me
