He didn’t exactly accuse him of sign stealing, he said he thought it was strange he was looking away during an at bat causing Darvish to step off the rubber.

Yes. Need more roster flexibility (guys with options) anyway.  Milner/Gustave/Sanchez/File. Small will be in the mix soon and perhaps will be back and forth a bit to stay stretched out.  Carrying Urena is just impractical if he's not really good.

I can't for the life of me imagine or believe that Darvish saying Yelich looks away during at bats could even begin to explain him going from the best hitter in the NL for two seasons into a sub - 700 OPS schlub.  There's just no way.  none at all.

No way Urena can still be on the team after tonight. He throws hard, sure. But 96 mph relievers are dime a dozen nowadays and he has absolutely no ability to command his pitches.

What is your explanation for his significant drop in production?

The knee injury, followed by a short season marred by Covid, seems like a way more plausible reason than one guy vaugely saying "he looks away during at bats" for a .400-ish point drop in OPS.

I can't believe a knee injury from two and a half years ago explains it. If it was it should've come to light quite a while ago.

Not sure why no Gustave for this inning.

This was not best time to use a garbage time long reliever.  Suter should've been left in to pitch at least three innings and then I think Gustave should've been used to finish it out.  Suter is a better fit as a long relief/piggy back type than a one or two inning middle reliever.

If you can't use a "garbage time" long reliever with a 6 run lead, then there is no point in having that reliever on the roster to begin with.

Hey you all are complaining about Ureña?!? Try watching any inning of Rex Brothers out of the Nashville bullpen in 2022. Yeeeeesh. I shiver at the thought. Several walks tonight a couple wild pitches to boot and a 1-2 game was 1-4 in the flash of a pitch.
