Bucks vs Celtics series thread

Since this had not been started, hope it's ok that I take the lead on it.

Would have been nice to get a shot off before the buzzer, but still very little to complain about in that half.

The Celtics are honestly doing a very good job keeping Giannis from having any room to work with in the paint and he's still finding numerous ways to hurt them.

Much better first half than I was expecting, aside from the turnovers early.

If Udoka can’t figure out a way to get Tatum/Brown going & Bucks can avoid their normal Q3 WOAHs, they could steal this one.

I didn't feel like this was a must win game or anything coming into it but it really feels like we gotta steal it now that we've put ourselves in position to do so.

I'm not sure if giannis intended to pass to himself off the backboard or if he was gonna try to lay it in and it slipped and he's just so good he was able to make it look intentional.

Wow. Great win.

Figured if they did win it would be a tight fight to the last possession type game, but to come out & run the hottest team in the NBA off their home floor (with no Midds to boot) was a pleasantly unexpected outcome for sure.

Wow. HUGE win. Game One on the road versus the hottest team in the East over near 3 months? Triple Dub for 'The King'? (Head Exploding Gif here)

The Bucks made a statement with this win.  That statement was, do you guys remember who the defending Champs are?  We do.

Exactly right.  The national media hasn't been talking about the Bucks as the team to beat.  Now keep the hammer down, don't let this become a series.

It was my impression that Giannis went up, realized he had too tough a shot, and quickly improvised the backboard pass to himself all within a fraction of a second. Meanwhile in the real world last week a customer watched as I almost fell out of a chair from trying to sit on it.

Why were you trying to sit on the customer?

I thought Ibaka might get some more minutes in the playoffs, but he must be totally washed. Disappointing to not really get anything for DDV, but he apparently was not worth as much as we thought.

I didn't see the game but I heard the announcers were pretty biased in Boston's favor.

I watched the game on and off - I didn't really get that vibe, but I may have missed it.

I don’t remember the bucks being as physical as I did today. They clearly had a plan. Let Boston shoot what they want from outside and if they come inside, there would be consequences. A lot of hard fouls and hard plays. I would expect Boston to be ready Tuesday to play more physically.

Also, watched the entire game and never really picked up on the vibe that the announcers were for Boston.

This whole "the announcers were biased" is a fabrication and case of people hearing what they want to hear.  An announcer might say a few complimentary things about guys from the other team, and suddenly they're biased.  They'll gush about Giannis or Jrue, and the people that just want to complain about bias will either pretend they don't hear that, or just actually not hear it.

We're all guilty of it, I suppose, to one degree or another.  I'm old enough and cantankerous enough that I don't give a fart in the breeze what national media thinks about my team, and having reached that point, it makes enjoying sports a lot easier.

Boston doesn’t really have the offensive players to play inside.  They have to get their shots from the perimeter and mid range.  That is how Boston is built offensively.

They kind of play into how the Bucks want to play defensively.  I don’t believe the Celtics have the shooters to play the perimeter game for a full series.  If they can’t get into the lane and make shots they are done unless they get really hot from 3.

I'm just glad the Bucks knocked Celtics nation down a peg. they were getting really cocky. should be a good series.

If the Celtics have to shoot that well from 3 to win a game I think we'll be fine. They did seem to revert back to their Game 1 ways in the second half. And while the Bucks don't seem to be much for in-game strategy changes, Budenholzer does a good job of strategizing for upcoming games. And if the Celtics are going to be this one-dimensional that's really promising for our chances even without Middleton.
