This team is so lost right now. Almost need to pull the alarm switch. Call up Frelick, Turang, and Ruiz. See if an infusion of new faces on the roster might be a jump start shock of some sort. Several guys won't be back after 2022. See if the youngsters might show better fielding and hitting approaches. May even snag a wild card spot while they're at it. At least the team would be interesting to watch, which is not what this roster is currently.

+1.....if you hit Sep 8  games out of the division and 5 out of the playoffs its time to look at the youngsters.

Bring up the kids; at least you know they're motivated to the max.

Use the blue.

If blue is needed for that post, then the issue is with the person reading the post, not with me making it.

I think the problems are more about talent then motivation.

I like clarity in my life.

There are very few clear &  simple solutions to complex problems.  But sometimes, firing the coach/manager/GM IS the solution to a complex problem.

Quite true.  But maybe the motivation will cover up some of the lack of talent.  One hopes.

Is this really all that surprising? Cubs are 16-10 in the second half and we are 13-12. Seems like the Cubs are the better team right now. Likely soon to be 17-10 and 13-13.

Since Memorial Day the Cubs are 33-38 to the Brewers 31-38 and have beaten the Brewers 6 of 7 times. So, there’s a pretty good argument that they are a better team right now. Or maybe a slightly less inept team.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yep. It's crying for a Frelick addition. Nothing wrong with a Frelick-Taylor combo.

Anyone who thinks that Frelick will make  a difference in a Brewer playoff push just isn’t dealing in reality. The past3-4 weeks have demonstrated that this team is a paper tiger and is nowhere near a playoff team.

These guys stink if its not one thing or another something always goes wrong. They are in a free fall  and I don't see them breaking out !  Hopefully the Sept call ups will spark them . unless CC doesn't play them.

We desperately need Yelich to come through in ducks-on-the-pond, less-than-2-out situations. An RBI groundout or sacrifice fly just aren't enough:

  • Yesterday: 6th inning, down 6-5, 2-on, 1-out: RBI groundout
  • Today: 10th inning, up 4-3, 2-on, nobody out: strikeout

If our leadoff hitter can't collect a hit in these situations, it'll be very difficult to find enough offense for this stretch run.

I'd be fine with a 45 game losing streak if it meant Counsell was fired.

I know I was called a conspiracy theorist for saying it earlier but Counsell has looked disinterested all year and I expect him to walk away after the season and take some nonsense front office role.

The Brewers and Padres are both free falling after the big trade. Baseball is not fun to watch right now.

This team has not been fun to watch in months. We had the pitching and just refused to address an offense that we all knew was not nearly good enough and this is what we get.

Gotta stick with Counsell no matter what. He brought the Brewers to 4 straight playoff appearances. Firing Counsell would be akin to firing Lombardi!!!!

Clearly not about motivation. And if you're talking about being capable of simply making the playoffs, I don't think it's about talent either. I think it's more about executing in the moment, and just sometimes not being very smart or fundamentally sound. I'm seldom if ever on the IGT while the game's going on so I don't know what the reaction was in the tenth inning, when Yelich went up to bunt. But on a 1-0 pitch he squared around &took a pitch that was about as buntable as you can get. They showed him sitting in the dugout after striking out & he looked like someone just shot his dog. I don't like to type this, but I hope he felt as bad as he looked.

In the current state, yeah, they appear to be a bad team. They've also shown to be something much different at other times this season. Overall they're in a spot a lot of other teams would love to be in. Whether they can take advantage of that is anyone's guess. I don't know. And neither does the "this team sucks" crowd.

I get that u want to bang on Yelich . totally understand. But its really a team non effort. . black holes in cf , 3b, DH and on and on. This team just can't string hits together , nothing clutch about anybody or at least someone we could rely on. Seen this last year with no corrections for this year . not in to firing people but it could be time for CC to go ! He looks clueless right now.
