It would require an act of God for Wiemer to be as good of a hitter as Braun, though obviously he'll have more defensive value. Braggs might be a good low-end comp. I'm hoping for Cory Hart with a longer plateau of high play.

Excluding 6-25-2022 to 8-02-2022 when he was obviously dealing with something (hitting .146), he hit .286 for the season.

These are never perfect 1 to 1 comps. I don't think he was suggesting that Wiemer could be a .330 in a year, but have the type of offensive impact. He can hit 20 points lower and if he's walking ~12% of the time, it'll make up for the difference in batting average and he is clearly physically capable of putting up great SLG lines. 

He could ALSO be a big insanely gifted athlete like Glenn Braggs was who is simply unable to make enough contact at the MLB level to be a productive player. 

I think Jay Buhner with speed/defense is the...best comp(if he hits), but it's easy to see the point he's making.

Yes, of course a hand/wrist injury can impact performance...

So can a hip injury. Garrett Mitchell had a hip flexor, that's not the same injury as Bo Jackson, it's just the same part of the body that he injured....so far as we know.
