Here is a recent exchange that illustrates one of my biggest complaints about posters here (and on most message boards):

 

rluzinski: "We need another thread discussing resigning Lee."

 

brewerjamie15: "Why is it a problem for another but different view of Carlos Lee?

If they bother you, don't read them. End of problem.

I swear, more problems would be avoided if people just avoided subjects they don't like."

 

KCBrewerfan34: "Brewer what the heck are you talking about. The guy started a thread and I didn't agree, should we only respond to posts we agree with? boy this would be a fun place. Lighten up man."

 

PeaveyFury: "KC, I'm 99.999% sure he was talking to Russ."

 

brewerjamie15: "Wasn't talking to you KC. I actually agree with your idea. Somehow, you misconstrued what I was saying."

 

I'm not calling out anyone here, but my biggest irritation is that many posters make comments that are directed at a specific post without quoting or in some way indicating who they are responding to. As this example indicates, misunderstandings can arise that cause someone to lose their cool. Often, especially lately, threads go in multiple directions and it's not easy sometimes to follow the conversation. If people would try to make the extra effort and make it clear who(m) they are specifically addressing with a comment, fewer misunderstandings would arise.

Generally speaking, I will quote posters and add their screen name after the quote. In this case, I didn't. Unfortunately, it lead to some confusion. I'll get back on the horse and resume my normal ways.

BTW- just so ya know rluzinski:

I wasn't trying to bash you at all, it just so happened that you made a point that I wanted to make. (in refrence to avoiding threads people know will irritate them).
