  1. ...and just like that, the Pirates are back in last place. ;) Crazy stat of the day: every team in the Central is better than EVERY team in the AL besides the Yankees.
  2. I'm not quite sure what you mean. Yelich may well not be back in 5 weeks, but I would be surprised if the other two are not. Their returns are very much in sight within that window.
  3. You're not wrong, this year could well be different. I agree they have great potential over the next few years.
  4. The only thing keeping me from betting a large amount of money on Ashby pitching today is that Harrison is also a lefty. I guarantee Ashby pitches tomorrow.
  5. I want to believe in Pittsburgh's long term potential, but we've seen this movie before. Until they can actually get into August without taking a nosedive I'm not going to worry about them.
  6. I think the answer is "longer than the fans can take it." :) He's shown a long leash and continues to value his defense, so I would suspect Pratt or Jett will really have to force the issue. Especially if other players come back and are providing the offense. If the 9 hitter is hitting .200, they're just going to live with it.
  7. How about a blowout to get Woodford and McGee some work.
  8. An absolute godsend given the injuries.
  9. You're mischaracterizing my pushback on your emotional rants against the state of this lineup. Let's all agree this lineup is hurting with 3 starters on the IL. Let's get some runs and put this thing away.
  10. Outstanding outing by Sproat. Clearly was time for Ashby to get his daily work in.
  11. Yes. Just because someone isn't a superstar doesn't mean they belong in the minors. Lockridge is clearly a 4th OF type. He's hitting .267, he's not a black hole.
  12. Don't want to jinx it, but he could easily get into the 7th at this rate.
  13. Bro, am I arguing that this lineup is great?
  14. Sanchez is not a minor leaguer. Lockridge is not a minor leaguer. Yes, when you have 3 of your best hitters on the IL it's going to be rough unless you're the Dodgers. That's just a fact of life. Sproat had a rough couple starts but he clearly is MLB caliber in what he's showing today.
  15. This is likely a fruitless debate, but you do understand that they're only spending a couple million this year, right? They didn't throw $50M in an escrow account for future Pratt expenses. Your point really doesn't hold water.
  16. Now Tigers lock up McGonigle for 8/150M. I'm sure Made is paying attention.
  17. I was going to say my first/only reference for Wisco in the real world was Wisconsin Lutheran, and sure enough they have a tweet out:
  18. It's a state connect vs city connect
  19. 3 BB for Monasterio. We deserve to lose this game.
  20. We're not paying a dude $50M this year. And what does "players need to be back playing" even mean?
  21. Yes, let's work around Monasterio again to get to Contreras.
