  1. That's not necessarily a punt though. Henderson still has never given up more than 3 runs and it's reasonable to expect he could go 5-7. Sproat could do fine for a couple innings. Hopefully we'll score a few runs and keep the pressure on.
  2. Using those links, Bauers OPS: 863. Vaughn OPS: 778
  3. Ohtani is looking very questionable right now, so they'll just have to muddle through with the other three.
  4. To be fair, their rotation was in shambles too, so it was imperative they add there, and they did probably as well as could be expected there for the number of bodies they needed.
  5. This is not true. It's not close to true. There was the early August period where he never played for some reason, but it's been nearly every day for a while now. I need to just save this screenshot since I keep posting it...
  6. For reference, he's played nearly every game since 8/12. Joey never plays was only true for a moment in time but the meme lives on..
  7. He has been. He went MIA in early August, but has been out there virtually every day the last 2+ weeks.
  8. It's almost like you have to play a whole baseball game before declaring things an unredeemable dumpster fire.
  9. That's an odd statement, considering he played virtually every game the last couple weeks. Are you still thinking of early August?
  10. Missing Vaughn here. Nice to have the bullpen in pretty good shape, although it looks bigger than it actually is given it has both Gasser and Drohan in there.
  11. ...which is exactly what he was for most of his career, and why he was a perfect fit to take the reins of a young team. It's also a credit to him that the veterans have bought in as well.
  12. I wouldn't want to waste a year of Fischer, but in a vacuum if we're talking about a random PH at bat in October, he'd be awfully high on the list of players you want in that spot.
  13. Looks worst in the afternoon; maybe we'll start late, but hopefully it'll get in.
  14. The greatest evidence that this works is shown in McCalvy's article about it. It was not a surprise to anyone in the clubhouse, and the vets took over and followed up with Pratt after. There's a unified culture of excellence and doing all the little things the right way. That's their edge and why for the second year in a row they're the best team in the league.
  15. Convenient timing, MLB.com breaks down the offense: https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/2026-brewers-offense-what-is-working The short answer is they are a pretty extreme outlier in how deep they let the ball go before they swing.
  16. Well at least the benching didn't put the clubhouse in shambles. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/cooper-pratt-s-benching-discussed-by-brewers-players-pat-murphy Pretty much what I expected to hear, and part of why this team continues to be elite.
  17. Yeah I think I exclaimed audibly when he pulled the bat back on that pitch - that was really bad. I think we have to trust that Murphy knows how to handle his players. Pratt didn't seem offended by it, he took it to heart and I'm sure it won't happen again. What we think about it really doesn't matter. It's his college coach background showing through, and it's what's helping this team operate at an elite level (and may get him an unprecedented 3rd straight MOY).
  18. Well of course, because their goal isn't simply to maximize the offense.
  19. Yeah it would be a major upset for PCA to not win.
  20. Edited the subject to make it more descriptive. Thanks for the legwork!
  21. Not calling you out specifically Jopal more than any other poster, but "you do you" is just the latest way to say "I think you're an idiot," and it's not necessary nor additive to any conversation. I hope at some point it just goes away and encourage others to proactively remove it from your vocabulary.
  22. C'mon, man. Miz, Harrison, and Henderson have been spectacular. Drohan is well above average. If what you mean is "May stunk yesterday and Gasser wasn't much better today," fine, but it's hard to take your statement seriously.
  23. Which is totally fair. Could Patrick start? Of course. But as long as he prefers the BP role and we have other starters to plug in (e.g. Drohan), we can use him there too.
