Trout got hit by a pitch during his last at bat and didn't argue or acknowledge it. They replayed it and I'm not sure how the announcers missed it. It clearly deflected off his leg. Then he struck out.

Cardinals players doing their best to hand the WBC trophy to Japan. Another reason to hate them.

Cardinal choked the game for Mexico last night. Goldy and Nootbaar doing everything in their power to make their teams lose today.

Moral of the story: Don’t trust Cardinals players in big moments.

Speaking of crushing a baseball, I think the one Schwarber hit off Darvish was still going up when it crashed into the right field seats

That was an absolutely insane AB

I said last night Darvish would choke today. Japan correctly didn’t start him but now he might be choking the 8th inning away.

Hopefully the US best pitchers see this and participate the next go around.

3 runs should be good enough. Betts, Trout, Goldschmidt, Arenado, and co. just choked.

Goldy in particular had an awful game

We really just got Ohtani vs Trout with 2 outs in the 9th inning of a 1 run game in the World Baseball Classic Championship. That was incredible

Baseball has peaked, it will never get better

The current version of Ohtani may be the best baseball player ever.

SPohei 21-22 (296 IP)
65 ERA- | 68 FIP- | 10.1 rWAR | 8.6 fWAR
Woodruff 21-22 (332 IP)
68 ERA- | 73 FIP- | 10.2 rWAR | 8.3 fWAR

DHtani 21-22
1305 PA | 146 wRC+ | 8.9 WAR
Vlad Jr 21-22
1404 PA | 149 wRC+ | 9.1 WAR

Essentially Woodruff and a lefty hitting Vlad Jr with wheels all wrapped up in one human.

Not too shabby.
