AAA Nashville hosts Cubs' affiliate Iowa this week, with RHP Janson Junk (3.86 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 6.7 K/9 in 35 IP) indeed getting the opening game start (instead of a recall by the Brewers for Thursday's spot start). One-time Olympic speed skater 2B Eddy Alvarez leads the team in OBP (.407) and stolen bases (11).

The High-A Timber Rattlers, owners of a 7-game losing streak, are on the road this week to take on Twins' affiliate Cedar Rapids. RHP Tyler Woessner (2.52 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 7.8 K/9 in 35 2/3 IP) gets the first chance to snap the skid. C Darrien Miller is absent from the lineup for the 6th time in 7 games, as C Matt Wood (.273 AVG, 724 in 25 PAs since promotion) maximizes his opportunities.

Low-A Carolina hosts Rangers' affiliate Down East this week, leading them by 0.5 games for first place in the first half standings. Intriguing RHP Will Rudy (1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, 8.2 K/9 in 14.1 IP) makes his 4th start of the year tonight. The youngest players on the team (CF Luis Lara, 3B Luke Adams) have the highest OPS' on the roster (.788, .757, respectively).

AA Biloxi is also home this week, facing Rays’ affiliate Montgomery. LHP Nick Bennett (3.48 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 10.0 K/9 in 20.2 IP) makes his first start of the season tonight, after two other pitchers went on the injured list. What kind of magic does 20-year old C Jeferson Quero (.286 AVG, .885 OPS in 105 PAs) have in store for us this week, after crushing 5 long balls and producing 10 RBIs in 5 games played last week?

Luke Adams, Jheremy Vargas and Gregory Barrios have all doubled.

Jesus Parra replaced Adams top of 7th at 3B. Looks like Luke got caught stealing in the bottom of the 5th, so maybe something happened there?
