Over half the dang lineup has an OPS below .600.

I think that was even worse in May. There were non over .700 one night or maybe it was .750. After Clarke was called up to AAA and Wilken was out.

And Tayden Hall squeaks a hit past the 1B, and it’s 5-4 lead !! Let’s get some more.  Let’s win this!

I see Nashville walks it off. And Christian Arroyo with a walk off homer

T-Rats at 5-4 and need a huge relief effort to not go to extras and win it in 9.

Biloxi trying to get back into it. And bases juiced and EBJ muscles a bloop into LF. He was the least likely RBI hitter coming in 0-18. And gets a bloop hit because it’s baseball that’s why.

TRats close it out after allowing Campbell a double, an IBB to DePaula (that’s how you don’t let him hurt you), and a K to end it.  5-4 win!  3-0 night so far on the night.

‘’Back to Birmingham- a walk gives the Shuckers the lead 6-5. Let’s go get a few more please.

I think it was another walk to extend the lead. 7-5 Shuckers. And Bowman pitches the 7th.  After the home run allowed he has limited the damage. On to 8th, and still 7-5 lead now. Let’s go get some more runs!

Big out by Bowman in the bottom of the 7th. He gets his 4th K to escape with a man on 2B (BB). Shuckers lead 7-5. I think I need to keep calling out Dylan O'Rae in my reports 🤭. Fantastic rebound effort. THIS is what a lead-off man of his ilk needs to do and he is absolutely 'doing it'.

O'Rae's magical lead-off night continues in the 8th with his 3rd single. He also has two free passes. On base every time he's come to the dish. He's also stolen two bags.

On base all 5 times for young Dylan.  Nice night. And exactly what a lead off hitter needs to do. And 3 SB. Wow !

O'Rae is stranded after Miller goes down looking at a 12-6 hook dead center. Scott flies out to LF. On to the bottom of the 8th. 7-5 Shuckers.

Fly out to LF to end the Barrons' 8th. That was a very efficient inning of work. I would imagine he'll come back out for the ninth. Mowed down 3 lefties with relative ease.

I continue to absolutely loathe EBJ's swing. It is a current disaster. There is just entirely too much going on and the timing has to be absolutely spot on with his body moving in at least three directions. It makes zero sense. Ugh.

Men on 2nd and 3rd now after a bloop single and then a first pitch two out liner to the LF/CF gap. Barrons best hitter to the dish. Eeeek.

Holub spikes his first pitch about 18" before the plate and it miraculously is blocked by Miller. Sheeeesh. Runners stay. Collective mound visit after that lawn dart.

Holub escapes! Inside heater jammed the hitter and it was a weak ground out to Brown at SS. The Shuckers snap an 8-game losing streak vs the Barrons. That's the first win of the series and the first win all season vs the Barrons. AND only the second win over the past week. Let's take that puppy and run to the showers. Whewwww!

With the win the Shuckers move back to five games above 0.500 in the second half at 26-21. They trail Montgomery by 1/2 G but because Montgomery won the first half, the Shuckers really lead Mississippi by 1.5 G for that coveted second half playoff berth. Pensacola has lost three straight and are now 2.0 G back the Shuckers. AND, as I've been saying for the past week, because the bullpen has been so dang good for so long - despite their recent woes - they still are second in the entire Southern League in run differential at a +53 for the second half.

I don't know how I feel about any of this. The Shuckers have been painful to watch for two weeks running now. Just grateful for a 'W'.
