Breakdown

When you're hot, you're hot. The Brewers wrapped up their best month of the season with series wins over the Giants and Reds last week. They find themselves with the largest division lead in baseball heading into the final month and in firm contention for a first-round bye in the playoffs. This week was led by the pitching efforts of Aaron Civale and D.L. Hall, as well as a power surge from the offense fronted by Willy Adames.

Highlights

Willy Adames is the first Brewer to homer in four straight games since Christain Yelich.

A game-saving play from Jake Bauers.

A game-winner for Jackson Chourio.

The 5th homerun robbery (yes, 5th!) of the year for Blake Perkins.

Garett Mitchell makes a play with his legs.

... And his bat too.

Homerun power on one knee.

3 Stars of the Week

3rd Star - D.L. Hall (7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 5K)

2nd Star - Aaron Civale (7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K)

1st Star - Willy Adames (7H, BB, 4 HR, 9 RBI, SB)

I believe the DL Hall call-up yo-yo was a result of the team being able to add a pitcher for the Saturday doubleheader against the Reds, and that particular call-up doesn't count against the number of options the Brewers have with him. Hope he didn't actually have to travel back and forth to Nashville all those times!

Welcome to the site! Yes, the Hall shenanigans were due to him being the 27th man.
