RHP Corbin Martin (2024 Sounds - Claimed by Brewers in April; Optioned to Sounds; DFA'd; claimed by Orioles) stayed with the Orioles into 2025. He appeared in 1 Game this season. He was DFA'd 7/13 and elected Free Agency.
He just signed a new Major League contract with the same Orioles.

He's a 'sophomore' now! Saw action in 11 games as a 'Freshman' - caught 2 passes for 29 yards and even recovered an onside kick. Earned a place on the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. We expect even bigger and better things for Harrison in 2025/2026. He'll turn 30 in August.

I’ve followed Severino closely after the trade - he was one of that year’s international signings I really liked in the same class as Lara, Johan Barrios, and Juan Baez - but he hasn’t impressed too much. Had a great showing in FCL last year (Lara was at high A, Baez at low A for reference).  I think Severino could be a late bloomer but he is at best the third best position player from that class.  Strikes out a lot and has some power he is tapping into, and we have a few players of that profile now.

Just watched RHP Max Lazar navigate a gorgeous top of the 10th for Philly vs. Boston. It was a rare high-leverage spot for Lazar, who only turned 26 last month, and would go on to celebrate with his teammates in the bottom of the inning on a rare walk off catcher’s interference (on a non-swing, check swing!)

Whoa. 40 Games with Nashville in 2023 - primarily in RF - 34-year-old journeyman Tyler Naquin has switched to the pitching mound in 2025! What's more? He's pitching for Lake County in the Midwest League. Amazing.

OF Brewer Hicklen has been DFA'd by the Tigers

Quote

Detroit picked up Hicklen in a March 28 trade sending cash back to the Brewers. He’s appeared in just one game for the Tigers in 2025, going 2-for-3 with a walk in that lone appearance. The bulk of Hicklen’s season has come in Triple-A, where he’s carrying a .227/.335/.394 batting line (99 wRC+) with eight home runs and 14 stolen bases. He’s walked at a strong 11.4% clip but also fanned in more than 30% of his plate appearances.

That unsavory high clip K rate continues to follow Hicklen, unfortunately. Best of luck moving forward, Brewer!

A 7-nation army can’t stop old friend OF Hendry Mendez (putting up solid numbers for the 2nd straight year: .808 OPS with 40 BB / 44 K ratio) from going to Twins’ AA affiliate Wichita in the Harrison Bader trade.

Another old friend is on the move, this time 21-year old OF Brian Sanchez (.811 OPS in Low-A ball) to the Pirates in the David Bednar trade.

The Padres didn't waste much time in placing infielder Jorge Quintana, acquired along with Nestor Cortes and cash in the (at first glance lopsided?) Brandon Lockridge deal, into A-Ball.

Quintana, who won't turn 19 until April, was the top money signing (at $1.4 million) in the Brewers 2024 international signing class that included Jesus Made and Luis Pena.

Quintana is playing for Lake Elsinore in the offensively-charged California League, starting five games at shortstop thus far. For the Maryvale Brewers in 2025, Quintana started 40 games at short and six at third base.

Small sample coming off his .752 Brewers OPS this summer, Quintana is 3-for-19 with a double, two walks, one HBP, 8 K's, 1 SB.

His numbers for both organizations, as well as his 2024 figures, are available via the MiLB Player Page link above.

Quintana, the switch-hitting Venezuela native, does get to wear one of the cooler hats in all of baseball, however (nothing against the classic Mudcats alternative if he were still a Brewers farmhand).
