So much for that "easy" schedule for the Bears and them not being legitimate.  The Bears are just taking it to the Eagles on offense.  Other than the one mistake by Williams this has been absolutely dominating game by the Bears offensively.  The Bears run game looks better than the Packers did against the Eagles.

I posted before this Bears-Eagles game that the Bears are indeed "legit." I didn't downplay the fact that they found a way to win some close games. I still hope the Packers will beat them out, but...we shall see,

has-beens that beat the Packers.

How was that Bears-Lions game?

The Bears will be humbled and it will be funny. I don't know if it will be the Packers or their first playoff game. But I will bet anyone, any amount of money, that the Bears are not playing football beyond the divisional.

When you're 9-3 with a differential of +2 and winning games the way they do, you're fake. Everyone has seen this before. It's pretty much the same phoney baloney thing the Bears are every time they have a season like this. They go nowhere and then back to the cellar the following year.

I find myself not really caring too much about today’s Bears-Eagles tilt. If the Packers returning to the Super Bowl is going to happen this year, going to Philly and winning in January is definitely doable, in my mind. Philly does not seem like the same team this year, and I wonder if they’ve been figured out to an extent (at least on offense). And maybe I’m a fool, but after watching LaFleur coach yesterday’s game, I suspect he would approach a rematch with Fangio quite differently than he did in that game a few weeks ago.

Plus, I haven’t an opinion about this, but if one is inclined to believe in the prophecy, perhaps a road win against the Eagles has a certain fated edge to it?

The Rams are clearly better than both. They are the class of the league right now, don't think there's any argument that can be made for another club.

Sometimes you just win close games.  The Bears offense is legit and has been legit since their third game of the season.  They have only two games so far this year where they haven't scored 20+ games.

This is not the same old Bears you may think this but it is not true.  They need to fix the defense but the offense is really good.  The Bears are doing great at running and passing the ball.  You can't just focus on one aspect anymore with the Bears and that is shutting the running game down.  The Bears have legitimate threats at WR and TE and have multiple of them at each position.

Correct, sometimes you do win close games. When you are winning every close game, it's an anomaly. Compare the point differential of the Patriots, Broncos, Rams, Seahawks, Packers, Colts and Bears. One stands out very clearly.

The Bears are winning games by 1 on fluke plays, winning games where they throw for 100 yards on 38 passes. And they are not winning a game or two like that, it's every game. Someone does this every year and it is never sustainable. They get badly exposed when it counts.

Their legit offense? Williams is completing less than 60% of his passes. That's really bad. They can run the ball, I'll give them that.

Are the Bears are a terrible team? No, but they are in a class with the Tampas and the Pittsburghs, not the ruling elite. They should be about 6-6, and their reckoning is coming. You can dig back a bit, I liked the Bears this year. Thought they did a lot to make the team better, they have a competent FO, and thought they were a good sleeper pick to be in the playoffs.

But 9-3 is a fluke, the stats suggest it's a fluke, and it will proven as such.

One thing is clear. Ben Johnson was a huge piece to Detroit's puzzle.

I guess. I still think Detroit is the 2nd best team in the North and they did put a 50 spot on the Bears. I think Detroit squandered its shot, the choke against SF and just got too injured last year. They're still decent, just not what they've been. It's hard to sustain that level for too long when you don't have an elite QB.

I’m still not a big Caleb Williams guy. I think Jordan Love is hands down better and I think Love has his warts.

The weapon are pretty legit, which is why I think it’s kind of alarming that Caleb is as inaccurate as he is. His mobility helps and I think Ben Johnson gets the most he can out of him.

Lol, that's not even a question. 58% completion and a full yard lower YPA and I would say, he's got better weapons and a better OL. Williams is lipstick on a pig right now. If you glance at yards, TDs, INT, he looks fine.

In his last 5 games, Caleb Williams is completing 54% of his passes, with an average volume of 35 attempts. In those 5 games he has surpassed 240 yards a single time and was under 200 yards twice. His normal line is something like 19/35 for 210 yards.

About the only thing he's doing well is not throwing picks, I'll give him that, which does matter. Everyone is happy when you're 5-0, but those are numbers that have people calling for your benching. He's not good. He's just not. It's a legitimate miracle they are 9-3 with that defense. It doesn't make any sense.

Haven’t looked at what their run blocking is but it has to be off the charts which I’m guessing is their big X factor. Swift and Monangai are nice but not JT and McCaffrey like they look like behind that line.

It must be because they aren't good at anything else. Love, while I agree there's stuff that's not great, might be getting MVP votes if Stafford didn't already have it locked up.  Not sure who is playing better other than him.

Yeah, that's what makes what they're doing a little scarier though. They finally have an offensive minded head coach and I don't think Williams has played great... by any means. Probably the #3 QB in that draft, but Goff isn't a world beat and Johnson had that offense among the best in the league.

I do think they're pretty legit though.

Colts might go from 7-1 to out of the playoffs.

It doesn't look good for them. They have a tough schedule left. 2X Jags, 49ers, Texans. Seattle. The Texans defense looks pretty good.

I was told that Kevin O’Connell was the quarterback whisperer and that it doesn’t pay for them to pay Darnold when any other QB can just step in to that offense and do the same thing.

Nah today has kind of sucked. Thursday was a fun one.

The Vikings are in serious trouble if they don't figure out their QB situation in a hurry, which I don't see happening, and it'll cost KOC his job and JJ will want a one way ticket out of there.

This Pit-Buf game has been just awful. Due to injuries, review, timeouts, they ran 9 plays in 21 minutes of real time. 7-3 at halftime.

there's a reason they tried to sign Daniel Jones

But this has been going on for weeks.

It's just kinda sloppy football across the board. I thought it was just the Packers in a few games, but... it's everyone. There's not a great team in the league. The Rams are probably the best right now, the Eagles I still think will be end of the year, but I think Hurts is overrated. Their WRs are struggling to get open.

The Pats are 10-2. I don't think they're that good. They're solid, not great... for example. Not trashing NE.

And they can lose to the Panthers, too.

Lots of parity at the top of the NFC.
