I wonder how smart it makes a person feel to have Andruw Monasterio bat with the game on the line instead of your best hitter because you thought it would be cute to have said best hitter pinch-run for in the 6th. Not that smart, I imagine.

It is all on Yelich and Contreras really.  When Yelich and Contreras are hitting like they should the offense looks good and then when they are not well you get what we have the last few games.

I agree and will say this much, they have to be hitting better than .243

While I can't completely blame him for today's game he certainly gets a share of the credit.

Certainly not in the upper tier of managers in MLB.

Way to go Rhys. Oh wait.

I know Murph gets crucified often and it isn't always justified, but he's really having a poor game.

Not playing the matchup with Peralta vs Machado just for one batter and going to Zas to start the inning resulted in the only run. That made sense on no level.

Pulling Rhys just really looking like an overthinking reason to go to the bench and again came back to bite him later.

How can management watch this atrocious offense day after day & not make changes to the roster?

We get good production for a couple of games, and then zilch for several games.

Ball had an .830 xBA. Tough luck for Brice

I am not a disciple of those XBA numbers. They don’t seem to take into iaccount a player hitting the ball exactly where the defense expects him to hit it.

That ball was sinking before it reached the SSwho didn’t have to move or jump to catch it.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yeah, you just can't pinch run for one of your better hitters when you know he's going to get another at-bat. Made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I know there are worse hitters in our lineup than Collins, but he has not looked like a major league hitter on either of his last two ABs.

Also pulled Bauers for a defensive replacement when the game was tied. Collins struck out twice in Bauers spot in the order

In several ways Murphy should take accountability for this loss. I hope he does, and doesn't just make excuses. I'd respect him for it.
