If you give Chourio, Yelich, Frelick, and Collins each a day off every 8 games, you can work Perkins into the lineup half the time. I think that’s a ballpark of what I’d go with. Seigler is probably going to continue a soft platoon with Durbin. Monasterio, Hoskins, Lockridge and Jansen are going to get scraps.

I kind of forgot Jake Bauers existed. I think he actually might be a DFA candidate when healthy because I just don’t know where you put him and who you take out for him.

And Perkins will be a defensive replacement late when the team is ahead as well. We already saw it when Frelick was out. Chourio moved to left and Collins was replaced by Perkins with Perkins in CF

Not disagreeing that this happened, but trying to understand it. Isn’t Collins a very high end leftfielder defensively?

Still pretty crazy how good he's been. I remember he played a bit with the team last year, I was watching his first mlb hit game with his family there. And thought he'd make a nice backup outfielder kinda player for us that was young and controllable...now he's a starter and mashing. And plays good D. Impressive.

yeah, crazy... that was essentially how I viewed him last year as well. A decent bottom of the roster guy with potential to contribute. I liked Hicklen too actually, but he shot himself in the foot with a boneheaded baserunning error, which I recall, opened the opportunity for the guy I call Ice. He's a humble, midwestern man playing for a blue collar team. Likability is off the charts.
