AA Biloxi has a rare Monday game, as they aim to shake off a 6-game losing streak. RHP Tyson Hardin gets the home start against Marlins’ affiliate Pensacola, his 3rd outing since a 6-week injury absence (2 IP, 0 R, 2 Ks in 31 pitches on Wednesday). SS Cooper Pratt had an .842 OPS in 112 August PAs.

After an infield single brought the potential game-trying batter to the plate for Pensacola, RHP Abdiel Mendoza made a heckuva play to finish off the 6-3 win:

Elsewhere, Fayetteville lost 8-5 at Salem to drop back into a second place tie with the Carolina Mudcats, 2 games behind first place Fredericksburg.

It’s a long shot, but a 5-2 week at Fredericksburg (including Thursday’s doubleheader) would likely give Carolina a playoff berth.

I know it was just one game last night, but boy that was the most muted minor league thread in a while. I know I was bummed after the minor league weekend outcomes, and the 2 bad losses by the Brewers. 

I would love a Mudcat resurgence this week to force my hand (or my eyes/interest specifically). I will take a great final rush by the T-Rats who with all that star power seem to be just middling.

Well they haven't exactly given is all a lot to write about, if we're being honest. Labor Day is also a family holiday. Grateful the Shuckers broke their skid and atarted this week with a victory! It's my harvest season, now, and all my farm work is ramped up to the gills. Kiddo #2 starts school again Wednesday. I am going to be minimally active in game threads this week amd will likely only be able to speed through condensed games for myself or watch select innings here and there.
