24-year old free-agent-to-be RHP Alexander Cornielle makes his 3rd AAA start and 2nd of the week (5 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 6 Ks on Tuesday), as the Sounds close out the 2025 Minor League season seeking to finish off a 4-2 series win at Louisville.

LF Jared Oliva has safely secured the International League’s stolen base crown (57 vs. second place 47) and DH Tyler Black is 10 for his last 22.

Cornielle gave up a first inning homer to 21-year old OF Hector Rodriguez in his second straight start. Down 1-0 after 1 inning.

And now the Bats have loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the 2nd inning (HBP, Dunn error, single). Ruh roh.

Nice turnaround by Cornielle: full count pop-out, K swinging, K looking.

On to the 3rd inning. Let’s see some offense.

Jimmy Herron smacks the Sounds’ first hit, a solo 351-foot pull shot to tie the game 1-1 in the top of the third inning.

Nick Kahle follows with a 103.7mph single and Daz Cameron cracks a 419-foot 2-run blast to left field.

3-1 Sounds. Keep it up men!

Louisville’s Levi Jordan is playing his 5th position in 5 innings, now working his way through the outfield.

Daz Cameron greeted him with a 108.9mph double to left field to lead off the frame.

Sounds lead 3-2 thus far.

Two hit-by-pitches and an error gifted the Sounds a run for a 4-2 lead in the 7th inning, but Brian Fitzpatrick conceded a double, 2-out walk and 2-run single in the bottom of the 7th, so the game is tied 4-4.

Now an infield single has runners on the corners for Louisville, still with 2 outs.

Craig Yoho came on in relief and induced a fly out to escape that 7th inning, still tied 4-4.

Now Bats' infielder Levi Jordan is playing his 8th position of the game, pitching the top of the 8th inning.

He faced three batters, giving up a single to Zamora, inducing a Murray ground out, then being let down by an infield error. Jordan now moves to 3rd base and will presumably catch the 9th inning.

2-on, 1-out, Nick Kahle at the plate with the game tied 4-4 in the top of the 8th inning and an actual pitcher coming on in relief for Louisville.

And Kahle collects his 3rd hit of the game, sending an 0-and-1 pitch into left field for a 2-run single and a 6-4 lead.

Craig Yoho made mincemeat of the 4 batters he faced: 13 pitches, 10 strikes, 2 Ks, 1 infield fly out, 1 ground out.

And now Jared Oliva starts the 9th inning with his 11th homer of 2025, triggering at least a 5-run inning.

Nick Kahle collects his 4th hit on a 349-foot, 3-run dinger.

11-4 Sounds. And yes, Louisville's Levi Jordan is catching this inning, playing all 9 positions in the game.

Fantastic way to end the season. The 2025 Sounds did not seriously threaten a post-season berth - tho, they certainly made the first half interesting. BUT, the 2025 Sounds definitely impressed throughout. The vet pick-ups performed. The team and coaching staff kept churning amidst a massive amount of roster changes and fluctuations. IMHO, this was a very impressive Sounds campaign overall.

In the end, the Sounds were very much the best team in the system. They finished 22 games over. They finished strong with a 12-5 September.

Every other team in the system? Pretty much closed their seasons with a resounding wet fart.
