Don’t ever remember Joey hitting a homer that wasn’t to left field……ball just kept going. 105 mph wow

happy for the kid……and Brewers really needed it…….not to mention the posters in this thread……lol

Facing the righty tomorrow, what are the odds that Vaughn is on the bench?

99.99999%?

Old man rant - I hate Gatorade showers …

Im fine with them whenever.   But I think only in rare moments is it justified.  Game winning 400ft+ Joey Ortiz homers qualify.

They could break out the champagne for that one.

Megill has looked incredible for a long time now……..command on point……velocity back to upper 90s consistently

Basically been completely dominant since that two appearance stretch in mid April where he gave up 7 runs.

Glad the Crew played 9 innings. Many posters were calling game over much earlier.

Honestly, with the way they've played the last two series (despite their 4-2 record) I felt like losing their 13th straight was inevitable. I threw in the towel before the ceremonial first pitch.

Kind of a grinder for Gasser I thought. Certainly not terrible but not quite the level of his recent starts. Schroeder talks about the 'one mistake'----the HR----but uh-uh. I was almost as ticked off about his 1st inning. A man on w/two outs & he walks Bleday, who hits LH & is overall three-for-thirty-something coming in. Extended the inning & cost him a run. Can't do that.

Hated the decision to PR for Vaughn. Losing his bat was only a small part of it. I've never liked pinch running at 1st base w/2 outs unless you're going to try to steal & with a lefty on the mound you know that wasn't happening. The other reason I hated it was because now you couldn't hit for Ortiz when his spot came up. Shows what I know😛.

You hafta hand it to this group, the way they respond.

I wonder how often we'll see Yelich vs a lefty from now on. That chase vs Moll in his 2nd AB---just wow.

Still trying to figure out the deal with Patrick. Now he throws with only one day off & I don't know if that's ever happened & he looked pretty good.

A lot of us (myself included): “Ma God. We have no bullpen. We can’t hit. What are we gonna do? How could things get worse? Will we even have the division lead by the AS break?”

Actual Brewers: (6-2 in their last 8)

🤣

From a baseball standpoint Joey has 'earned' the demotion to a platoon guy this year and to a question mark for his future.

From a human standpoint he has watched the Brewers give away his job in the future to a kid who hadn't even debuted yet, paid that kid a lot more money than he has ever been offered, then had them call up the kid later/now to take his job permanently. That's a lot for any player to process mentally over the course of a few months.

From both a baseball and human standpoint that was an awesome moment for him. That was a primal roar he let out around the bases.

I didn't like the Vaughn pinch run decision either. Glad it didn't come back to bite losing the bat.

Murphy also going Yelich/Bauers back to back ended up getting us 2*.

Fair is fair on the call outs.

.....And I'd bet there's no one on the team, coach or player, who has helped Pratt acclimate more since he's gotten here than Ortiz.
