Be interesting to see what they do with the BP this game - Koenig/Uribe or Kuhnel/Anderson, depending on the score?

Miz is pitching a complete game today so it's a moot point.

Stallings has to break the ice at some point.

I'm still thinking about Joey O's defensive performance last night.  He made the ghost of Brooks Robinson blush.

He's hitting a dismal .203/.546, but he saves runs with his glove. A net positive?

To answer the question about Miz's workload, I'm 60/40 against trying to get him 2 more starts before the ASB. I love having him on the mound in any game, and 4 days rest is "normal" (this is the 40 side of me talking). But I rather avoid the wear and tear from going that often for the long haul. And it might mean he wouldn't get to pitch in the ASG - I'm ok with that (again to avoid the wear and tear), but it would kinda suck for him personally and really for MLB, too.

Furthermore, if they don't use Stallings today, they could use him to start a game in AZ and give all the starters an extra day during this grueling stretch. Edit - I now see they've announced Harrison/Woodruff/Sproat for the Az series - so much for my idea

Runs could be tough to come by today. We haven't gotten a running game going this series, which might be something Cincy is susceptible to. They've made a few defensive mistakes; might be a day to push the envelope, maybe hit & run a little, etc.

More than likely.

Don't say that too much.  People on the board may actually start believing it.

Burns in particular is very susceptible to being run on. Definitely could see the Brewers active on the bases today (assuming they get baserunners)

Ortiz is at +0.2 bWAR this year, he would be -0.2 without his glove.

Frelick at -0.4 bWAR this year, he would be +0.3 without his glove.

So Joey has vale over a replacement player, but not at a 2.0+ WAR pace that would be expected of a regular starter.

I don't know if I fully trust the defensive numbers but they match the eye test.

I think he went but again, home plate umps should neve be allowed to determine a swing.  You're supposed to be watching where the ball crosses the plate, you can't do that and determine whether a batter swung.  MLB should really just change it to a rule where check swings are required to be called by the 1st or 3rd base umpire.
