Whoo, Victor got the job done. Nice.

I don't like the way Bill and Daron were so condescending toward Antonio Perez during that at-bat. It's not their job to be the "good behavior police" and make moral judgments about players on the field.

EDIT: This crap about an anonymous source saying that the Dodgers "lack heart" is hogwash, too. Totally unprofessional.

Antonio Perez had a very lengthy suspension in the minors a few years ago....does anyone remember what that was for? I thought it was for pushing an ump, but it may have been player/fight related.

Jorge has no business in the big leagues. Yet I know we can't pass him through waivers. This sure is frustrating watching him throw ball after ball once again

At some point Yost will learn that relievers pitching on five or six days rest tend to struggle. If it happens to the closer (Turnbow), it's definitely going to happen to the young guy with control issues.

C'mon, Jorge!

If he hasn't pitched in a week, can you really expect him to be sharp? He's started every five days in the minor leagues for the last four or five years, and suddenly his usage pattern is significantly different.

Instead of giving him high-leverage innings once every week, why not give him some lower leverage innings every few days?

Huh?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Jorge gave up 3 runs in the 1/3 inning, he was relieved by Wise, who promptly gave up a HR. I dunno if it's a WISE move to set up the sequel.

If Wise is coming in now, why didn't he start the inning? I just don't get it. Jorge is used sparingly, and then we he *is* used its a very high-pressure situation and he's yanked after a walk and a weak grounder to second.

If I was Jorge, I'd be frustrated and confused.

Hey! Enough of the ditching on my guy! Jorge is going to be a quality pitcher...QUALITY! Ned just has no clue what he has in the phenom.

come on guys. You're treating Jorge like a victim. He's our second best lefty in the pen, and our 4th best lefty on the staff. The long men in the pen aren't supposed to get regular work. They're supposed to work hard to keep themselves ready whenever called upon. Lately Yost has tried getting him into these late inning situations to start an inning, because we haven't had starters struggling. If Jorge's role is the 6th inning, and our starters keep going 7 and 8, he'll never get work. The simple fact is that Jorge isn't doing his job.

Inconsistent work is part of every reliever's job description, is it not?

By the way, the 3rd base ump just blew that call.

Edit: Maybe not. Close.
