What Jersey will Yo be wearing next season?

I would love to buy a Yovani Gallardo jersey, but I am a little nervous. My roommate bought a Justin Morneau jersey the year before he changed his number. Does anybody know if Yo will be changing his number, and if so to what? Thanks for your help.

No one knows for sure because those kind of things can change for any number of reasons. But given the obvious connection to another Mexican Brewer pitcher Teddy Higurera I'd say Yo keeping #49 is very likely.

I would think he would change, just because the equipment guy is the guy who picked out #49. (All Mexicans don't have to wear the same number, imo.) If Yo has a different number in mind, he'll probably go to it next year. Villanueva changed after his first year. Fielder, Weeks, and Hart have all always had the same number though, so who knows.

 

To conclude, I would wait until next spring training to buy a Yovani jersey. Or, I guess you could try to get in touch with him and ask him if he'll keep #49, but I don't know how well that would work, especially in the offseason.

Hey, I made this exact same thread a few days ago. The consensus was that he'll keep 49 because of his ties to Teddy Higuera. Even if he doesn't, oh well; you've got a #49 Yo jersey.

 

My jersey was shipped on Friday, so I'll get it some time this week. I was hoping to get it before the weekend so I could wear it to the games on Friday and Sunday,(ordered it 2 weeks ago) oh well.
