Marquette Basketball news - Mbakwe out for season

Tom Crean just announced on the D-List that Trevor Mbakwe requires knee surgery and will miss the entire 2007-08 season. Medical redshirt, will be a freshman with four years of eligibility left next season.

Not the worst thing in the world, but they could've definitely used his help. The Eagles need all the help they can get on the front line.

How did Marquette beat Wisconsin in the Kohl Center. As a Badger fan, this really upsets me. Watching Marquette play the last couple of weeks is pretty discouraging. I guess this is just another example of why Bo Ryan is a better coach than Tan Tommy. Bo's teams usually get better as the year goes on and Tommy's team do not

They've become pathetic on the road. I'm a fan of both Wisc and Marquette (although I do like Wisconsin more) and it's really frustrating. Maybe scheduling Savannah State and Coppin State right before conference play doesn't help.

they caught the badgers at the right time. the team was still working on the new line-up.

it also helps that the badgers seemed to have learned how to shoot FT's again

Marquette was playing well at the time(IIRC) and the badgers weren't. Would the result be different if they played now instead of then? Probably. But i like to think the badgers learned alot from that game.

The Badgers bigs are slow in comparison to the Big East bigs. The Big East is a much more athletic league than the B-10. This plays a huge roll.
