I recently started smoking an occasional cigar, what are some of the best...but still cheaper? I was on a trip this year in the Dominican Republic, and I got a box of cohibas for 20 bucks, and they were amazing. I want a humidor also, but I dont want to spend too much.

I like Romeo y Julietas, particularly cetros. I haven't bought one in some time, so I have no idea what they cost now, but it seems like they were $4.75 a couple years ago.

If you want a cheap humidor and a wide selection of cigars, check out the Thompson Cigar Co. catalog. I bought a humidor package deal for a friend and my Dad also purchased a package from them. I have one of their cedar jewelry box humidors, it works great. Currently, it has some Empressario's in it, which also came from Thompson.

Personally, I love the Cohiba brand as well, but it's pricey here in the U.S. I like Macanudo as well, not as expensive, but being an infrequent smoker (once a month), I don't mind paying a few bucks.

Don't know where you live, Sheets, but if you're in Madison, check out Knuckleheads on State Street. They've got a nice walk-in humidor and they basically leave you alone to choose what you want. I've found that specialized cigar shops are a little too snooty for my tastes.

From my experience, www.jrcigar.com is the best internet cigar dealer hands down. You can get some nice smokes there for a buck or two a piece (by the box or bundle).

JR is probably the best. I also bought a humidor/25 cigar/lighter combo from thompson and besides all the picketing they do to try and get you to buy the "reward program" and such they're good. As long as you just say no to everything extra, you'll get what you want in less than two weeks. I love my humidor!
