McDonough is really well respected in Chicago. The radio guys said this is a huge coup for the Blackhawks (the one team in Chicago I can stomach) and he most likely got a ton of dough to head over there. Stability of the 'Hawks ownership was probably a factor according to local news types.

It seems like the Brewers are the only team in the central that hasn't gone through major front office or manager changes this year.

Wow, leaving a premier MLB franchise to run an NHL team?

 

I love hockey, but honestly, that's like leaving General Motors to head up the Power Wheels division at Fisher Price.
