Shannon Stewart

Assume that we do not sign a 3b or trade for one moving Braun to left. What are the options besides a platoon of our current outfielders for left. What about someone like Shannon Stewart? I remember from last year that Melvin at least contacted his agent so their was interest at one point.

Interesting idea on Stewart. 2007 BA: .290 OBP: .345 SLG: .394 Played 139 games in LF; 6 in CF.

 

Does anyone know how Stewart's defense was? Did he recover enough from his foot issues to play a good LF or was he just stuck out there by Oakland?

 

His bat would be an addition, but if he can't play LF at an above-average level, it would be questionable to have Hall in CF and Stewart in LF.

He cannot throw at all, but he runs 'em down. Health is always an issue for him as well, I would have liked him last year, but many were afraid of his ability to remain off the DL.

Pass directly and go to jail for this possible signing. Might as well put Prince out in LF if we are going with Stewart his time has come and gone.
