Team Splits in 2008.

Last season the team batting splits in OPS were .860 vs. LH and .755 vs. RH.

Next year, with the addition of Cameron and the loss of Jenkins, the splits will even be more extreme.

someone like Matt Stairs might be a good addition (I know he just signed a new contract), I'm just giving an example--a LH OF that could get some starts and be a prime PH.

I know if I'm a starting pitcher, I'm going to want to pitch against opposing lefties, to get my win total up!

I think Gross is the guy you are thinking of, for better or for worse. Counsell is the LH backup IF and Munson the backup LH C. Not sure there really is room for another LH Bench option unless it is someone to replace Dillon as the backup CI.

Also keep in mind young players grow in a couple ways, their power generally goes up, their OBP goes up and in many many cases their offhand splits go up. If say Hardy and Hall(needs to learn to take BB's vs righties) figure out righties some the majority of our problems go away.

there's room: Gross, Counsell, Catcher (prolly Munson), Dillon, plus one more slot. Heck, Branyan might not be a bad choice, though that won't help OBP.

I don't want any part of a player coming off microfracture surgery on his knee. If he proves his health again, then I agree 100%.
