I'm guessing it will start thursday morning. I've been waiting for three weeks now. On the bagsocrap prediction web site it says they are something like 22 days past due for a woot off. I'm really jonesing for one.

Woot-Off

The site will occasionally deviate from the one-product-per-day model for a "Woot-Off", where a succession of products are available for a period of unannounced length, usually 24-72 hours. This mode is indicated by rotating lights and a bar indicating the usually undisclosed amount of product remaining.

During an average two-day Woot-Off, Woot's sales typically exceed one million dollars.[6][/sup]

Bag O' Crap

In lieu of typical product sales, Woot occasionally offers a $1.00 fukubukuro-like blind grab bag officially called "Random Crap." Its accompanying picture has lent it the name Bag O' Crap" (BOC), despite its shipment in a box. The BOC includes dollar store items and may also randomly include (significantly) more expensive electronics items [7][/sup]. The "BOC" typically sells out within minutes of furious ordering, often overloading Woot's servers.

On April 1, 2007 as an April Fools' joke, the Bag O' Crap was offered for the price of $1,000,001.00 with the regular price of $5.00 for shipping. A coupon code ("please") was discovered in the product image and utilized by Woot users to receive a $1,000,000 discount on the BOC, thus reducing the price to the standard one dollar.

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Isn't this how sites like steepandcheap.com and whiskeymilitia.com operate all the time? (Though, I know it's a different product sector)

So, what is the site that runs these "woot offs"? I have often wondered because I always see people talking about them and getting pretty excited by them. I read the definition above and I guess I am still a touch lost. Maybe I am just looking too much into it. The bags sound like fun though.

OK....so no wootoff again this week. This has ruined my workweek (or lack there of) for the the third week in a row. For some of you non-wooters, some of the best parts of a wootoff are the posts during a slow item sale. My F5 finger is going through severe withdrawl.
