Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Fall Behind in Series to Indians after 7-1 Loss on Wednesday.
Losing the game and Anthony Seigler’s 16-game hitting streak may be minor compared to starting 23-year-old RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez’s early exit after struggling for 2 1/3 innings. Let’s pray it’s nothing serious:
Nashville had gotten its leadoff hitter aboard in each of the first 4 innings, but failed to get the clutch hits to push runs across, falling behind 4-0.
At least 2B Ray Delgado (2-for-4, RBI) and OF Eddie Rosario (2-for-4, double) had good days at the plate.
Sounds’ Extras:
- RHP Garrett Stallings (1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks) was solid in relief of Rodriguez and RHP Easton McGee struck out the first 3 batters he faced (peak velocity 94mph), before McGee struggled in the 6th inning.
- LHP Bryan Hudson (1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 Ks) was also effective (peak velocity 94.6mph), retiring 5 straight hitters and a bit unlucky that his last hitter (2-out single) scored after his exit.
Friday’s outlook: RHP Tobias Myers (2.45 ERA, 1.25 WHIP in 18 1/3 IP) is the scheduled starter, with Nashville needing a road victory to even this week’s series at 2 game apiece.

After starting RHP Brett Wichrowski (4 1/3 IP, 0 R, 4 Ks) weathered an early storm (3 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP in first 2 scoreless frames), Biloxi’s suddenly struggling offense nearly pulled off a 1-0 opening game victory behind C Matt Wood’s first AA hit:
An error on 3B Brock Wilken to start the 6th inning opened the door to Rocket City, who delivered an RBI single and nearly-caught double to snatch the lead and victory.
The run conversion challenge continued in Game 2, as the Shuckers put the leadoff batter on base in the first 3 innings.
LHP Nate Peterson (4 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks) kept the club in the game, but RHP Stiven Cruz only retired 2 of 7 batters faced, as a 1-0 deficit ballooned to 4-0 in the fifth inning.
Shuckers’ Extras:
- As positives, OF Garrett Spain homered and had an outfield assist, C Darrien Miller doubled and caught a base stealer.
- OF Luis Lara also singled and stole his 19th consecutive base without being caught.
- RHP Tyler Bryant (1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 K) is now unscored upon in his last 10 2/3 innings.
Friday’s outlook: LHP Tate Kuehner (2.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP in 43 IP) will try to stem the bleeding as Biloxi finds itself in a 3-0 series deficit on the road.
Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes
Final: Peoria 10, Wisconsin 1

Despite the defeat, the Wisconsin media team has put together an excellent package of video highlights from the game (which is also posted within the linked game report above):
And we’re also thankful for the 18-minute Mehring/Lobner post-game podcast, featuring C Marco Dinges, Manager Victor Estevez and some players with comments on the upcoming NCAA baseball tournament.
The linked game report is packed with game and player details, including how the drawn-in infield was a contributing factor (though understandable strategy) to Peoria’s 7-run sixth inning.
Starting RHP Tyson Hardin (4 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 5 Ks) and RHP Zach Peek (1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks) were effective once again, while SS Jadher Areinamo (2-for-4, double) was his usual exceptional self defensively as I’m sure you’ve seen on the highlight video.
Timber Rattlers’ Extras:
- RHP Yerlin Rodriguez needs to corral his control issues of the moment: 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 WPs, 2 R, 1 H in one inning of work.
- 20-year old RHP Bishop Letson hasn’t pitched in a game since May 8th, but is listed as the expected starter for Saturday evening’s contest.
Friday’s outlook: RHP Tanner Gillis (1.83 ERA, 1.27 WHIP in 39 1/3 IP with Carolina and Wisconsin this year) gets the start, with the Timber Rattlers aiming to grab a 3-1 home series advantage.
Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes
Final: Carolina 10, Salem 4
Box Score and Game Log
Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Big Inning Lifts Mudcats Past Red Sox
DH Jesus Made (3-for-4, 3 RBIs, 3 SBs) was the spark plug, walking and stealing his 19th base in the 1st inning (stranded), then singling to start the 8-run rally in the 3rd frame.
A rare difficult inning from 19-year old starting RHP Bryce Meccage (3 1/3 IP, 3 R, 2 Ks) saw 3 second inning runs come across on 3 hits and a walk, but the big Carolina 3rd inning set things straight.
2B Luis Lameda’s 2-out, bases clearing triple gave the Mudcats the lead at 5-3 before Made followed with this in-the-park homer a few batters later.
The ‘pen of RHPs Dikember Sanchez, Jesus Flores and Garrett Hodges allowed only 1 run in 5 2/3 innings, with Flores (4 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 4 Ks) eating important innings to preserve arms.
Mudcats’ Extras:
- SS Luis Pena had a boom-bust game, with a 2-run homer, single, stolen base and 3 Ks.
- OF Tyler Rodriguez keeps finding ways to get on base (.436 OBP, despite a .214 AVG and .250 SLG) - 3 walks in this game.
- After a 5-game hitting streak, 1B Eric Bitonti may want to forget this game: 0-for-5, 4 Ks.
Friday’s outlook: 20-year old LHP Wande Torres (7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP in 22 IP) is the scheduled starter, with Carolina seeking to grab a 3-1 home series lead.
Final: ACL Brewers 10, ACL Padres 1
Box Score and Game Log
The Arizona Crew (15-5) blew this home contest open with a 6-run third inning punctuated by a DH Jeferson Quero 2-run double and OF Jadyn Fielder RBI triple, while the staff dominated with 14 strikeouts.
6’4” 18-year old RHP Tyler Renz got the start and tossed 4 scoreless innings without yielding a walk (3 H, 4 Ks – 60 pitches; 2.37 season ERA), followed by 5’9” 19-year old RHP Wenderlyn King’s second straight terrific outing of 2025: 4 1/3 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 Ks in 66 pitches; 2.45 season ERA.
Quero had opened the scoring with a 1st inning solo homer on a 3-for-5, 3 RBI day for him. Every offensive player reached base via walk or hit as the team out-hit the Padres 11 to 7.
3B Jorge Quintana and 1B Frederi Montero (2 RBIs) each collected 2 singles, while 2B Roderick Flores reached base 3 times (1-for-1, 2 walks, sac fly). DH Tyler Black (1-for-3, walk) also continues to rehab with the squad.
The victory pushes the ACL Brewers to a 3-game lead in the central division. They’re to return to at the ACL Rangers at 8:00pm CST on Friday.
We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Friday, the Mudcats get a busy baseball evening started at 5:30pm CST, with the Milwaukee Brewers also commencing their series in Philadelphia at 5:45pm CST. Nashville, Biloxi and Wisconsin have start times between 6:05pm and 6:40pm.
