    Breakdown / Highlights
The Brewers began their week-long road trip at Wrigley Field in Chicago, battling the NL Central-leading Cubs. Chad Patrick would be bested by Ben Brown in game one, as the Brewers were only able to scratch across three runs against the young righty and the red-hot Chicago bullpen. The next day, rain scuppered any hopes of playing a three-game series, so enjoy Issac Collins stealing some thunder on this diving catch:

On Thursday, the Brewers won a nailbiter to split the series, and they used the long ball to do it. Collins homered in his second straight game, while Rhys Hoskins and Caleb Durbin both added blasts, too. Freddy Peralta labored through five innings, giving up three runs, while the bullpen barely managed to hold off the Cubs offense; Trevor Megill nailed down the 8-7 win.

In Minnesota, the Brewers feasted on the struggling Twins pitching staff. A late barrage brought them to 17 runs Friday night, with eight of the RBIs coming off the bat of Christain Yelich, but it was the man on the mound who caught everyone’s attention. Coming off a first big-league start where he allowed no hits through five innings, Jacob Misiorowski added six perfect innings before Matt Wallner collected a 2-run homer, snapping his hitless streak at 11 innings. Jake Bauers would close the night on the mound for the farcical 17-6 win.

The bats stayed hot on Saturday, and so did the pitching. Jose Quintana turned in perhaps his best start of the season, with six scoreless innings, while Milwaukee used small ball to torture the Minnesota defense, taking the series.

Quinn Priester had lots to live up to in game three, both from his last handful of starts and from the dominant series precedent, but couldn’t hold up his end of the bargain. Giving up three runs on nine hits through just 3 1/3 innings of work, he gave way to the bullpen. In fact, both teams got more outs with relievers than with their bulk guy. Needless to say, the summer weather wasn’t kind to either team's arms, as the clubs collected 17 and 18 hits, respectively, and with the game coming down to the final out, Trevor Megill stranded two Twins runners to lock down a 9-8 win.

    Looking Ahead:

    • Jun. 24, 2025 – Pirates at Brewers – 6:40 PM CT
    • Jun. 25, 2025 – Pirates at Brewers – 1:10 PM CT
    • Jun. 27, 2025 – Rockies at Brewers – 7:10 PM CT
    • Jun. 28, 2025 – Rockies at Brewers – 3:10 PM CT
    • Jun. 29, 2025 – Rockies at Brewers – 1:10 PM CT

This week's homestand should be loaded with chances for wins for the Brewers. All eyes are already on Wednesday afternoon's game, though. That's when Misiorowski makes his third big-league start—against Pirates ace Paul Skenes. Plan your grandmother's funeral now; get out of the office and sit down to enjoy that one.

Since the Twins and Brewers last met on May 18, the Brewers have MLB's best record at 22-10, and the Twins have MLB's fourth-worst record at 11-20. But it took until this series for Pat Murphy to be convinced that everyone fit, thanks to a big series by the 7-9 hitters.

“We can be pretty complete,” Murphy said. “We can play defense. We can run the bases. We can hit. We can pitch. And we have a team -- that's what I'm most concerned about.”
