  1. Here comes a big hit to really blow this thing open.
  2. Garza is his own worst enemy sometimes. Most times.
  3. If Perez gets 5 at-bats tonight, what's the over/under on number of pitches he sees all night? I'm setting it at 12.
  4. This is a definite "feel-good" game. Lots of guys getting in, sac flies...HRs.. hits with RISP. You just want to believe this is the start of a hot streak of some kind.
  5. He's not trying to hit you Parra, for crying out loud.
  6. Great to get that win when it felt like this team was going to lose another one late after the offense took a snooze.
  7. He reminds me of turning on the radio on a Friday night and catching a random high school football game. You're expecting basic play-by-play and not much else.
  8. Just getting to strike 2 is a feat for Hernan. Just means he hasn't hit the ball between the lines in his first two hacks.
  9. "We're back with a BIG story. Denard Span hit an inside-the-park-homerun tonight!" -- talk about a letdown after that intro to the segment.
  10. Even though he was throwing pretty well, I didn't like Hader leading off the 7th inning. If his spot comes up with two outs, fine, but not to leadoff an inning late in the game when you're just going to pull him two hitters into the bottom half. Would rather just give Barnes a clean inning to start off with with at least the two run lead but whatevs.
  11. Coshun didn't judge that one quite right, that ball was gone off the bat by Shaw (even if it didn't go as far as I thought).
  12. He had a triple yesterday too. The one yesterday was legit. Today's reminded me of the time I played on the old school astroturf and a ball was "lined" into the gap and what should have been a routine single turned into a 3B because of how the ball scooted passed. C'mon, Braun. Get the runner in.
  13. Wow, that's a nice gift from the Rockies' outfield. A triple for Thames?! Okie doke.
  14. I would be most in favor of a system that would alert umpires to mistakes made (calls made out of zone or in zone non-calls) that could be fixed while still in the at-bat; i.e. override the umpire without going to full review. This would allow that 9/10 correct call percentage to increase while still maintaining the "human element". I apologize if this idea was already posted, haven't read the entire thread.
  15. I'm with you; I rarely notice announcers. If I do, they're probably doing a bad job but they have to be really bad.
  16. I remember a Brave's game, and I think it was ... Chip Carey? Chipper Jones hit a walk off homerun and Carey called it with absolutely a no-frills, monotone voice, it was so hilarious. "There's a fly ball to left. Left fielder going back. He's at the wall. It's gone, and that's the ballgame, Braves win." Super flat, no emotion at all. I bet that was Skip Carey who's voice changed very little with whatever was happening on the field.
  17. OK, that was nice to see. Some dinky hits that for sure would have been outs yesterday, or another inning, but lead to runs and more runs.
