    I feel like, up 5-1 in the 8th, this would have been a good time to use Jeffress. But, according to the 2014 Brewers' Book, Smith is the 8th inning guy with the lead.

    Do you think they just shot the scene of Ethan Hawke in a recent game, and used footage from a 2005 game for the field shots? (I have not seen the movie) No, based on how the movie was filmed over a dozen years. Wow, I just read the synopsis on wikipedia and am surprised at how Linklater made the film.

    There are probably conflicting reports. When I saw the initial 6.5 offer was dropped to 5.5, I wondered why it wasn't getting done. If it was indeed 3.1 (which I found in one report) and that was 40% of the draft slot, then that's kind of shady.

    Where are you seeing Aiken was getting half as much? From what I was reading he was being offered 6.5 from the start, and then when the Astros didn't like the MRI, they were offering 5.5. Did they then pull their offer?

    Is there some reason why Jeffress isn't even on the 40 man at this point? If Thornburg won't pitch again this year, he should be moved to the 60-day (how many options does he have left) and Jeffress can go to the 40-man and then the MLB club.

    This is one of those games where it feels like the Brewers had chances to bust it open against a pitcher who was struggling; they let the pitcher off the hook a few times, and then end up losing the game.
