  1. Ennder, with all due respect this guy was a repeat offender who was at three times the legal limit at the time of the accident. My brother was killed by a repeat offender as well. I have an in-law who has gone to prison repeatedly and yet keeps falling off the wagon, and by the grace of God hasn't killed anybody yet. I may be biased, but there are some are not able to be rehabilitated, at least with current knowledge and practices. I pray that changes in the future.
  2. Chad and Jamie, my sincere sympathies and prayers are with you. For every post you see, there are many others in our community that are keeping you in our hearts and prayers in this trying time as well.
  3. First, OWBC, my yearly thanks for being the most trusted meteorologist I know. Second, ugh - I'd rather have just snow than rain followed by cold and possible snow. Makes for messy, icy conditions.
  4. Yet another one started at midnight - yada, yada, yada. . .
  5. I'm beginning to wonder if vampires do exist. There's a guy here who I've seen walk away from auto-flush urinals twice, and neither time did they flush, and there's no way he shouldn't set off the sensor.
  6. Thanks for the info, Hof! Probably a hack or just a simple glitch. Yet one more reason to appreciate the throbbing brain of bf.net.
  7. I have an invitation from somebody in LinkedIn that I have no clue who she is. There's nothing in her profile that's even close to us ever crossing paths. Plus, I'm not exactly stalking material http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif If anything, the fastest way to connect us is via Kevin Bacon. Just weird.
  8. I gotcha beat. My wife and I went to Red Lobster and a 20-something couple offered us their seats while we were waiting. I'm only 43 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif You'll know you're getting old when the cheerleader's moms look better than the cheerleaders themselves.
  9. Don Wakamatsu was to be bench coach, but took the same position with the Jays. He was one of the eight interviewees. Wakamatsu to Jays (removed duplicate link --1992)
  10. 6-0! Call this the Kangas-Rue game! (runs away as the tomatoes fly)
  11. One of the all-time great managers. Sparky Anderson dead at 76.
  12. Fascinating - on election night the football game on ESPN2 is the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs. the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
  13. On Edmunds web site, for example, the front page has a selection for new cars. From there you enter your zip code, select the car (a bit convoluted, but not too bad), and then price with options.
  14. A couple of sites to look at for what you really should pay are edmunds.com and kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book). They have tools to help you figure out what a fair price should be for a new car.
  15. We just had PT conferences at our local elementary school and found out that they will NOT be teaching cursive writing, except just enough to teach each student how to sign their name. It was explained that this was due to technology. I should have asked why they still teach long division. why do I never think of these things? BTW, thanks for sharing the list, Principessa!
  16. I agree that it wouldn't have as much impact on the field. I do think it would have a pretty big impact with the fan base and national media, however. And maybe a free agent or two that are worth something. Plus, ya gotta admit that Valentine in one dugout with LaRussa across the diamond in the other would have some good entertainment value.
  17. First Mrs. Cleaver, now Mr. Cunningham. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Icons from my, and many others, childhood are passing away. Their passing hits me worse than most others in that they reminded me of a more simple and innocent time.
  18. See JimH5's thread on the passing of two greats.
  19. I noticed that in a couple of them, Beltre ends up with a little smile on his face - like the first of wOOgiE22's vids. There's gotta be an in-joke with Martinez somewhere, maybe with it being an annoyance the first few times but turning into a joke later. Either way, I keep coming back to watch. Thanks!
  20. Good point on re-treads, Patrick. I thought the Pats were nuts to hire Belichek after his Cleveland stint, so even past success isn't always a necessity. Just finding the right fit who learned from past experiences could be the way to go.
  21. I second that. Outstanding! Now predict the next manager http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  22. Hawing, I believe he descends from a mount for the baseball season. Once again, there is no blue that is blue enough for statements about the Cards.
  23. The Reds officially closing out the Classy Cards season last night. Definitely not bugging me!
  24. Bump - 'nother woot off. . .
