  1. How do you keep 700 Brewer geeks occupied. . .
  2. Thanks HH! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning told to wait until my parents get up and have their coffee.
  3. Bill Hall 2.0 Can Jonathan Villar pitch?
  4. Grilled cheese. . . toast. . . Seems like a natural progression.
  5. Or when people get rid of cable and satellite and crow about the savings, but then start stacking subscriptions like Sling TV, Netflix, Hulu, Tivo, etc - sure, there are some good alternatives out there, but when you subscribe to every alternative, I'm not sure how much you're saving vs a full cable package. We were thisclose to cutting the cord. We had stacked both Slingtv and Playstation Vue (to cover all the channels we want) and added Hulu and still would've save $40-50 a month. The only thing that stopped us was how crappy live sports looked via this route. Well, that and how much my wife likes DVRing shows that aren't available to stream. EDIT: Forgot to add that we already have Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we don't count that as it's a current expense. Add them and it's still cheaper cutting.
  6. It was there all along. Play it in reverse - it mentions a goat.
  7. An' I'm a pickin' (I know, reverse order)
  8. Baldkin, that is a spectacular shot. Absolutely beautiful all the way around! Thank you for posting that.
  9. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff144/DatHoser/varmintcong.jpg Sorry, I couldn't resist
  10. I'm grinning ear-to-ear. Jeff Luhnow may be an incredible GM for the Astros, but he's a computer idiot. The Cards got in to the Astro systems via passwords he (EDIT: and other ex-employees) re-used from his time in St. Louis. What a mental midget.
  11. This move reminds me of the Chris Saenz call-up some years ago (I'm too lazy to look up exactly how long ago). EDIT: Lo and behold, there's a retrospective thread on Chris Saenz. He was brought up in 2004. Yeah, I'm slow I like the move and agree that maybe some new blood will shake things up. Could this be a start to changing the old way of doing things?
  12. In the "less than surprising" news of the day, Sam Dekker elected to enter the NBA draft. http://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/wisconsin-badgers-sam-dekker-nba-draft-going-pro-frank-kaminsky-041015
  13. Seconded. Change for change's sake. While I despise the 4-letter network, it was the first place I would go for a quick update on scores.
  14. The Miller High Life delivery guy, Windell D. Middlebrooks, from the commercials passed away at 36. No cause was released. Sad - seemed like a great guy from what I read during the time those commercials were aired. http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/10/entertainment/feat-windell-middlebrooks-miller-high-life-dies/index.html
  15. Incredibly funny, but be warned that the link is definitely NSFW.
  16. Rats! I can't make the 7th. I had a great time last year, though! Have a Guinness for me.
  17. Happy Birthday, Hawing! Don't ask me how I remembered. Most times I don't even remember what I had for dinner the previous night.
  18. Thank you, GAME05!! Just bought the mp3 album. I love Vince Guaraldi and I love Wynton Marsalis.
  19. Getting in the car to go to work this morning and hearing "Linus & Lucy." Just starting - no less.
  20. This. X3 I'd rather have the winning team. If you have to work the umpires, so be it. Those "strike" calls on Braun were pathetic. All it takes is even slight bias by the ump and you get stuff like this.
  21. As a systems admin, I can attest that ping is still used quite extensively. A ping is simply a small packet of info that is sent from one device to another to see if the second device responds over that network. The term is stolen from submarines. "One ping only."
  22. DocLuna7 - it's a line from Animal House.
  23. 1982 Brewers. They fired their manager, Buck Rodgers, part way into the season and replaced him with Harvey Kuehn. As of July 30 they were a half game out of first in the AL East. They had a three game lead going into the final four-game series at Baltimore. They lost the first three. On the final game of the season they clinched, with Don Sutton beating Jim Palmer 10-2, no less. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  24. We just got nickel to quarter size hail here in Hartland for 3-5 minutes. Nasty front going through.
