  1. Im still wondering why the Front Office claimed McGehee in the first place, when they had the same person in their own system in Adam Heether. How do you think he's feeling right now, not even getting an invite. Heether put up the same if not better numbers in the minors and he was in our own backyard.
  2. Jesus Guzman 3b switch hitter, either from the A's or Giants system, is tearing up the pitching in the Venezuela Winter League with a 390/481/684 in 136 AB and in 2008 hit 364/419/560 in 341 AB at AA. He will be 25 in June and most likely gone by the time we pick unless we get some team to pick him for us. Guzman has also played some 2b and corner OF.
  3. I'm predicting no major moves. 2 - Kendal 3 - Prince 4 - Weeks 5 - Hall/Branyan 6 - Hardy 7 - Braun 8 - Cam 9 - Hart Bench - Rivera, Kapler, Heether, Crabbe or Nelson or Langerhans Rotation - C.C., Yo, Parra, Bush, Soup Pen - Torres, McClung, Villy, Coffey or Dillard or DiFelice, Riske, Shouse, Stetter Well except signing C.C. And maybe take a flier on Ryan Langerhans as a replacement for Gross
  4. The fact that McGehee catches is a plus and might get him a shot, but I hope that Adam Heether gets his shot at Crazy Joe's spot before McGehee. Heether put up better numbers then McGehee and can play any infield position and has played some outfield. Heether = Dillon (with less pop but better D)
  5. If you would do that deal who's ends up eating the innings at the end of the year? You have Yo with basicly this past summer off and the most innings in a year he has gone was 188(2007) The most Manny has gone is 166 innings which was this year and Sanchez 158 innings also this year. Dont get me wrong id love to have Sanchez with the Brew but I think the Crew needs someone a little more established. With the innings issues and the high pitch counts that Manny and Sanchez put up may burn out the pen early in the season and force Soup, Bush and McClung to cover those innings. Even if we made the playoffs with that rotation it most definitely would be gassed.
  6. Thanks Al I dont think he'd get selected either, but I just think he would be a good fit on the team in a utility role over Dillon and Counsell and I would protect him. I'd want him on my team in that utility role(I was hoping).
  7. Im guessing from that list: The four that are going to be playing in the AFL, Cain, Periard, Aguilar and Welch. Maybe Miller or Narron. Im hoping Heether(a younger Joe Dillon, IMO).
  8. Hey there just wondering what the the status of Lorenzo Cain, looks like he was taken out of the game on the 21st in the 7th and hasnt been in action since. Great stuff in your blogs by the way, just awesome. Thanks.
  9. Anyone have dish network? I cannot find the game...usually channel 445 but im getting college softball!!!
  10. I see LaPorta played RF tonight, anyone know how well he did? I was at work and didnt have access to the audio...thanks
  11. IMO Villy has better stuff...sure Bush has a nasty slow curve but the difference in speed in his fastball and curve may be too much and also he has a tendency to hang his curve a lot. Again IMO, but Villy has better control of his fastball which sets up his curve and very good change. And when i say control i dont mean walks i mean mistakes. Just from what ive seen Bush leaves too many of his pitches down the heart of the plate.
  12. Crabbe>Counsell, Nunez, Kapler, Gwynn...why again did we leave him unprotected? Switch hitter plays six positions and has shown at least more power than Gwynn and is younger than TGJ.
  13. Took Ollie to the Vet today and bad news...Fractured hip. So two weeks of kennel time and we go from there. If its not heeled by then he will most likely need surgery. The Vet did say that since he is young it has a good chance of heeling on his own. I'm pretty bummed. Took him to Greenfield Veterinarian Clinic on South 27th Street and they were really nice, caring and informative. Thanks all for the info.
  14. Just looking at box scores today and saw Crabbe went 1-2 while playing SS...So i'll ask the same question Wood did...Why didn't the Brewers consider Crabbe to be able to play 3b and SS? and if they did, why not protect him? IIRC there was room on the 40 man at the time or at worst Drew Anderson, who was still on it, could have been sent down and the Brewers wouldnt have needed to sign Gabe Kapler... Also Thatcher had a pretty rough day today.
  15. Hi all, just had a similar situation with my 4 month old rat terrier(Oliver) last night. Left Oliver alone for a moment and came rushing to him yelping and barking sitting on his side favoring one of his hind legs as soon as i picked him up he stops the barking and yelping but was whimpering and we eventulally went to bed. This morn he is still favoring his hind leg and will not put any pressure on it but the whimpering has stopped. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good vet in the Milwaukee area? And for someone on a tight budget, would a Vet clinic have payment plan options? Moved back here about a 2 months ago and have not taken Oliver anywhere since the move. Thanks.
  16. Anyone see Austin Kearns moving somewhere now??? with Pena, Lastings, and Logan possibly being the starters there in D.C.
  17. Looking at last years innings pitched(86), Manny could be shut down pretty soon. All ready up there in innings(121) for this year, i dont see Melvin letting Manny go over 135 innings. He hasnt gone that many since the 2003 season(138). With the following year being the beginning of his shoulder problems. That leaves him with about 14 innings left which is about two starts or about 1 month or so of relief. Of course though, thats just what i think will and should happen. Which in turn should set him up for about 155 to 160 or so innings next year. That translates into about 25 starts i think. But another great outing like last night and it will be hard for Melvin to shut him down without some backlash. (fixed accidentally posted emoticon --1992)
  18. Going to see Interpol on Monday at the Rave Of Montreal and TV On the Radio put on very good shows Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The Shout Out Louds, also very good shows if you like low budget indie bands with tons of energy.
  19. I think it an eight game road trip in seven days...
  20. Craig Coshun said on Brewers Live that there was a tear in a ligament and is out at least two weeks possibly up to six weeks or more if the tear is full with further tests(ultrasound) coming tomarrow.
  21. I would like to see Sheeter continue to develop that changeup he so seldomly throws, I havent seen him throw it that often and it seems to me that hes stuck on the four-seem two-seem? and curve. I looked back at the MLB Gameday @ Dodgers start and it looked like he only threw it 3 or 4 times out of 87 and to the same batter(Furcal) in two seperate ABs. Anyone know why he would hold back that pitch?
  22. 10 AAA home runs so far this season; 1) RHP Ezequiel Astacio / Oklahoma Redhawks (Rangers) 2, 3, and 4) RHP Chan Ho Park / New Orleans Zephyrs (Mets) 5) LHP Adam Bostick / New Orleans Zephyrs (Mets) 6) LHP Ryan O'Malley / Iowa Cubs (Cubs) 7) LHP Les Walrond / Iowa Cubs (Cubs) 8) RHP Randy Wells / Iowa Cubs (Cubs) 9) RHP Blake Hawksworth / Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals) 10) LHP Troy Cate / Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals)
  23. Braun not in lineup once again so says the box score... worried yet?
  24. Well Braun out for the fourth game in a row... And now the fifth game. At least their not taking any chances, and rightfully so. Lets make sure he is 100%, theres no rush.
  25. Curveball hanging and fastball up and missing the spots early...
