    Dear Brewers, I work with several people from Detroit. I'm not asking for much, just a few hits, perhaps some runs. A victory would be great, but I understand we've got to start somewhere. I'd just like to come into work tomorrow morning and not have to defend you to my co-workers, be they the Tigers fans or the Cubs fans. Thanks, MPS.

    7 Milwaukee Brewers Matt LaPorta 1B Florida The Brewers the nice thing about taking LaPorta as a developed college guy is that he could suddenly have some trade value down the road. LaPorta is a well-developed college hitter with good strength. He makes consistently hard contact and gets good extension through the ball. He is for the most part a finished product who should get through the minor leagues very quickly, but may have limited upside. He should be an everyday first baseman early in his major league career, although Prince Fielder looks to be the Brewers' first baseman of both now and the future. He figures to be a Greg Colbrunn/Scott Hatteberg type player. I don't get it. Good hitter, should move quick, but is limited to the position that our best player plays? Uh...Doug?...Jack?...anyone?

    Making my second trip up to the Keg this weekend for the Friday and Saturday games. First time for a Brewers game (went to the first Indians game in April). REALLY excited to see Cirillo, had totally forgotten that he was back. Hopefully Cappy dominates and we can continue the winning.

    I'll also admit I was wrong about TGJ. He's been playing really well this year when he gets a chance. I wonder if he could keep it up over a full year. I'm really wondering what they're going to do when Braun comes up now. I don't think you can send TGJ down.

    a losing streak of 1 game, out east against arguably the best team in the NL and i'm disgusted. if that's not a sign that expectations have been raised, i don't know what is! hopefully Benny can come out throwing gas today and we can jump on Pelfrey early and not look back. GO CREW!
