  1. calebs run has been unreal...if it wasnt for so much time missed last month, he would have been our player of the month...
  2. I agree...i just think that Brad will have a very good AAA career, which should allow him to catch a break with some mlb at some point...he's missed his chance with the brewers...but i wouldnt be surprised to see him throw up that .950 OPS you mentioned in the next couple years at AAA
  3. two questions: 1. how do i make thread size a higher number than 10 2. will it always treat the stickies as the most rrecently posted in threads even if they are not?
  4. Joehova--- Brad is 24...i'm talking about Brad at 27...he's far from done with his chance in baseball...i think he'll be capable of putting up an .800 ops when he's 27, 28... i think it does a great disservice to a player when you do a straightmathmatical conversion of their AAA numbers...i agree that he would struggle to keep his obp at a reasonable level, but his slugging wouldn't like fall as far as you are suggesting right now, Brad's hitting .348/.526/.874 against righties...which suggests he's not a total rummy, just a platoon guy...i think calling him the potential worst player in the league is reaching massively to burn the guy.. again, i don't think he has a future with the brewers...but if used correctly, i am positive he could carry a .800 ops in the majors...and since he 24 and only in his first full season in AAA, i think some are being overly quick to dismiss his ability...he's 8 years younger than Joe Dillon...and 3 younger than Nelson Cruz... anyway..
  5. I'd say Taylor's a couple inches taller than lefave...i'd put hiom at 5'11" and 180...maybe a smidge bigger than that
  6. this is a good move...the brewers could use a hot stick off the bat, and they arent risking anything by bringing up a grizzled vet...
  7. its more like .333/495 now... it's too bad he lost time to injury...he's not as flat as some thing he is...he'd be about average as a starting corner guy in his prime...it just won't be with the brewers i bet he hits 40 homers in AAA some year though...
  8. if you are bored, check out hernan iribarren's splits...he's just dying against lefties this year...
  9. I posted some of these last night, but i thought I'd throw them all up together so that you can see them: Taylor Green Steve Chapman Alex Periard #1 Periard #2 Brent Brewer Andrew Lefave and here's one from a couple month ago... Jeremy Jeffress If you have any requests from the Power squad, let me know in the next few days and i'll get one...
  10. Periard in the Bottom of the 2nd here's the first Periard Video
  11. i stretched out... actually, there were a couple hundred more at this one than there were at the Kanapolis intimidators game where I taped jeffress earlier in the year... Ctown doesn't draw the crowds... check out the attendance on thursday though, because it's dollar beer night...
  12. here's the first two videos: Brent Brewer hits a double Andrew Lefave takes a cut... As for Brewer's defensive play...he just made mental mistakes that were costly...he's a bigger guy and there's certainly no grace in his movement...For example, he essentially broke up a double play he and Brad Miller were turning because he ran in front of miller, impeading his ability to throw to first...basically, he couldn't slow down...on the play before that, he was just unable to get the ball out of his glove.. i still think he'll stick as a ss...but he'll never be great...
  13. Jeremy Hellickson looks like a 12 year old... He brings it about 92 and he comes inside a whole lot...he looked pretty similar to Alex Periard actually... Tonight go me thinking a lot about Will Inman...Will k'ed a lot of guys, but stuff wise he wasn't dramatically different from either of the two starters tonight...i really wanted him to be Roy Oswalt, but he wasn't at that level... That said...it was fun watching both the starters... The Power had Hellickson's number in the 1st and second, hitting the ball really hard and draawing some walks...but after he settled down, he started fooling them. Steve Chapman in particular had a harrd time laying off the high heat, but he certainly wasnt the only one... Periard alsso throws 90-91 most of the time and topped out at 92 (as always, i made sure it was a stalker gun)... Alex's fastball tails away...it almost looked like a screwball...this was pretty cool to watch, and it definitely jammed a bunchaa guys...he broke a bat or two during the night as well...He works slowly and when he gets out of rhythm, it seems like it takes him a batter or two to get it back...He didn't strike out a bunch of guys, but i can definitely see the potential ... His Breaking baall came in aroud 76-77, which gives him a good differential, although not a devastating one like Jeffress...he didn't throw the offspeed stuff very much...he mainly threw the fastball...John Curtis went out and talked to him for a while at one point in the fifth...i wonder if they see him as a bit of a project...i'd say he's the kind of guy that could "get it" and start striking out a guy an inning at any moment...pretty exciting... Brent Brewer's bat looked even better than early in the year tonight...he's very quick through the zone...however, he made a couple of blunders at short tonight that showed he doesn't have natural instincts over there... Andrew Lefave is very good at hitting...i'm clueeless as to why he hasn't been moved up...he's not a big guy...perhaps that's why... anyway, there'll be videos of periard pitching, and Chapman, Brewer, Lefave, and Green batting up later tonight if my internet doesnt crap out... i'll be at the ballpark at least once more this weeek, so i'll take notes and tell you guys about it then... i sure do hope Laporta gets moved tonight http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. It's ok...just trying to keep things organized, as opposed to disaster filled...
  15. "Mets Nearing deal for Castillo" I rest my case... edit: Im not meaning to be rude here, but we're going to see like 35 things like this in the next couple days, and they are better placed in trade rumors until confirmed... at the least, post the link to the actual news story rather than the rotoworld blurb in your posts...
  16. Is the castilla one a done deal? even so, we tend to not want it posted until there is linkage confirming... the main isssue is that there is a whole forum for trade rumors, and a snippet from rotoworld is generally nothinbg more than a rumor... finally, a thread titled mods should be in the issues forum...
  17. Please save trade rumors for the trade rumors forum
  18. im going to the wv game...i'll report on periard, among others later...
  19. lets keep this thread about Teixera...all other trade noise should go to the trade rumors forum..
  20. screw children...they shouldnt even get meals off...
  21. braun was a better prospect than everyone in this deal not named teixera... i think the braves just wanted to trade salty...i expect they will extend Tex pretty fast...this is a classic schuerholz trade...
  22. Yeah, i definitely think arod could have juiced...i think practically everyone was juicing...
  23. If youve ever had tires put on your ar or ttruck that were a different size than the original manufacturer materials, then your speedo i offf...5mph is extreme, but definitely possible if you have a tire thats a couple inches bigger in diameter
