  1. He's still #1 easily...Lou Palmisano wll be 26-27 before he makes it to the bigs...that's not a top prsospect...Lucroy is in helena...angel by far... as for whaat doug said, i think you're forgetting jeremy jeffress...
  2. Thanks agaain for the input coach...andd i'll admit to possibly overrreacting earlier, but this is still a big deal whether we like it or not...losing almost half a season is not good for Angel'ss development..
  3. I've writtten about steve up and down, including a few paragraphs last night...i think he's got great potential and i'm very excited to have him in the system...he's doing a ood job of distinguishing himself from the other outfield guys by bopping so many homers this year...
  4. I think the main reason is that Will hasnt been viewed as a guy who can rack up a bunch of innings...he needed a break last year and i suspect that the crew probably viewed him ass a reliever in their plans... as for the fastball, there really isn't that much of a difference...maybe 1 mph off the top speed, as yo hits 94 and wil is probably around 93...both work in the low 90's so that's pretty negligible... i'm no scout, which should be self evident, but i viewed will as an equal to or better than prospect to yo...i liked the way he threw, and in my limited viewings in the minors, will seemed better...actually, i've been to hundreds of minor league games, and will was probably the best starting pitcher i've seen.. As for the height thing, i'm 6' and will is about the same...i've stood next to me and he wasn't shorter than me... i really just don't think the brewers thought he was going to progress as he moved up the chain...this is a perfect example of why i know i'm not an expert...but hey, i'm learning... jeremy jeffress is the new goto guy in the minors...
  5. chill...lets leave the moderating to the moderators please...
  6. Congrats to these guys...you've beeen sent to pitchers heaven...make the most of it...
  7. I'm not going to completely trash this deal because: Linebrink is very good...screw the last 10 days, he's been a very good pitcher for years, and i'm confident that he'll pitch very well and either be the closer next year, or supply us with two very high draft picks...i'm not upset about getting him at all Thatcher was interesting, but he's an older prospect, and there just wasnt room for him in the pen this season...and this trade is all about this season, so linebrink=better than thatcher, so we win straight awy here Steve garrison is young, but he doesn't k many people and he doesnt throw that hard...i've seen him pitch, and other than being very young, he didnt impress me...he could be something, but his ceiling is definitely much lower than will inman's... finally, pitching prospects are like Kripy Creme doughnuts. One is really awesome, and it makes you want more...two or three kind of make you sick...and each and every one could be the one that kills you...Counting on pitching prospects is like counting on doughnuts to keep you alive...it works, but it's not a safe way to go....i'll take a hitting prospect over a pitching prospect every time However: Inman deserves more credit than he is receiving here...he throws in the low 90's, has impeccable control, strikes out a ton of guys, has a bulldog mentality and doesn't give up many long balls. Head to head, i always liked him more thn Yovani...i was just more impressed with the work i saw him do in te minors...I think he'll be a good major league pitcher...and it suckss to see him go, especially since he was about to become the power 50 #1.. anyway, this deal is a kick in the groin, but it's really not that bad...the mlb team is definitely improved...and there's no guarantee that the minor leaguers do anything...
  8. Thanks for the insight coach...your input is always unmatched..
  9. a couple things... He doesn't play brilliant defense...which means he's a corner outfielder or first baseman... which leads me to... Without power, his walk rate will decrease at higher levels...i love Brantley... and i think he's a better prospect than Tony gwynn Jr., but i can't knock TGJ and not point out that Brantleey's walk rate is unsustainable without some power Brantley also isn't that fleet afoot. He's not slow, but he's no base stealer... So, the OBP has been great, and he hits for a decent average...and man, is he young...but he's still quite a ways a way developmentally in a ffew other areas... He's the exact opposite of Steve Chapman...if you could combine the twwon, you'd have a superstar...but Michael needs more power to play his position, otherwise you'll have to expect Podsednick without the speed playing LF...
  10. re: Bell and Chapman... I agree complettely Patrick...I think both of these guys are interesting prospects...Chapman has all sorts of tools...i guess these two guys just stick out to me because the power this year has been legitimate...the brewers have rarely had guys that hit a bunch of homers in the low minors, and i've been pretty excited to see it coming from these two... i think the thing to note with Bell and Chapman is that they aren't perfect prospects....Chapman hasn't hit lefties at all this year...but even as a platoon guy, with the power he has he could bee really useful...especially considering that he can play all 3 outfield spots. Bell has a lot of potential in my eyes because he's a middle infielder... Youa re right when you note that neither are hitting for much average, but neither are embarrasing. Chapman has been extremely streaky this year...he's been down to the .2240's and as high as the .300's...i think he'll wind up around .280, which, with his power, would give him an OPS of .850...not great, but a good year...add some plate discipline to that, and he looks really strong. Bell hit well in WV, but flailed early in BC...however, his last couple months he's been great... i think we have these guys pegged right at the moment...Steve's a 25-30 prospect and Bel's a little lower, but i think they are intriguing because they seem to be power guys rather than speed guys or tools guys(although Chapman is projectable)...there really aren't that many guys in the system like these two...perhaps you could add Brendan Katin, but that would be the end of the list..
  11. Mikerollins--- Lay off the condescension a bit please...it's ok to think Ned's lying, but it's also ok to think Estrada is hurt...
  12. Steve Chapman's got a good bit of power...so does Mike Bell...all those guys need to do is walk more and they'll both be serious prospects in a hurry...that said, i think the guy in the low minors with a ton of power is more projectable than the guy who walks alot...here's hoping both walk more as they move up..
  13. well, demoting him to helena would cut his paycheck quite a bit...though i don't know if he's being paid during the suspension
  14. Brandon Phillips was good last year and pretty much great this year, but don't forget that he got off to a collosally bad start, hich caused the Indians to give up on him. I think Weeks has a lot in common with him still...i think Rickie will eventually turn into one heckuva major league baseball player, it just might take him another year or two. Brandon Phillips certainly took some knocks on his way to becomming what he is now...
  15. I don't know...i think this is a humongous deal...part of the reason i liked Angel so much is because he wasn't saltalamacchia or palmisano (both guys who've had their image tarnished by questionable behavior in the past...This really sucks, and i kinda feeel like we've been taken for a quick one.... Angel will still be a heckuva prospect when he comes back, but this is a huge strike against his reputation as the hardest working guy in the farm system...I always saw him as an upstanding guy and this, well unless it's a total mistake, really hurts that image...Tom wilhelmsen was a guy who many questioned...i don't think i ever read about him when his maturity wasn't mentioned as suspect...when he had trouble and eventually left the game, it wasn't a shock. This is so surprising about Angel precisely because everything we've heard about him is the opposite.. He can certainly come back from this...and he can probably repair his image...but it will be very hard...and the brewers may very well just want to move on from him at this point as welll.. and i don't mean to assault his character...it's just that i feel let down...hopefully there's more to this, but if not, it's pretty aggravating... oh, and before i get an email from some of lou's followers, i have heard that he's matured quite a bit in the last few years...
  16. Gio Gonzalez wasn't washed up anything when they traded him...he was a pretty big prospect
  17. Yeah, this is curious to say the least...perhaps there's someone witth the staff there that they want him to work with?
  18. This reminds me of the time someone told me Braun's power was just average and that i shouldn't expect him to hit more than 20-25 homers...told me he was a 50 on the 80 power scale... glad he's better than that...
  19. I think voldemort intended for there to be 7 piueces of his soul, but he inadvertantly put one in harry when he tried to kill him the first time... in other words, there were 8 pieces of soul, but voldemort only thought there wwere seven (as well as dumbledore, who didnt think harry could handle the truth yet)
  20. i dunno...i wish it was someone else...drew carey is too goofy...bob was a bit more sly than drew...
  21. grant balfour, meet justin lehr and his buddy joe winklesas...and yes, we ride the bus in the minors...
  22. well, the grant balfour experiment sucks
  23. lets be nice, gentlemen... all kidding aside, even if braun cools off, he's still one of the best hitters in the national league...i think you only trade him if you are getting david wright+.. in other words, you cant trade him..
  24. I hear ya... why dont you suggest going somewhere diffferent to your parents? Disney world really isnt the end all in kids entertainment...little kids can have a blast almost anywhere...and if the whole point is forr the wwhole family to be together and watching the kids have fun, why's it matter if it's disney or not...why not go to the beach, or the grand canyon or something instead...honestly (and this is just my opinion, but i've been practically everywhere in the states) disney isn't close to the most spectacular thing you can see or do... go to washington dc and see all te amazing things there...
