  1. Youre right about the system being the problem. Say too bad wont resolve this. Also its odd you see 30 teams operating the same way. How anyone assumes thats natural is beyond me. You cant get 30 owners to agree on anything but analytics....sure. So you think it’s impossible for 30 teams to all agree on something such as analytics for their baseball decisions, but totally possible and 100% accurate that all 30 teams are colluding with each other to avoid bidding up each other on players? Try calling 2 agents and get them to talk to each other much less agree on anything. I dont care about what other agents do as long as my guys are fine. There is no love lost between any of us as were all stealing from each other as the player pool of earn were s are finite. So yes the two bodies are opposed but not the same at all. My side isnessentially 100s of independent contractors and the teams are one mlb body. These are not equal and opposing sides. Now if you askef me if mlb meets w other keagues and if the pa met with other pas totally different story. But no agents dont collude because it would serve any purpose. Find me an agent who ever put the leagues health above the needs of a client. Ill wait.
  2. 1. I know how id react to that offer..... 2. Obviousness is obvious 3. Ill just stop you there. It doesnt. See you at the park formerly known as miller!!
  3. Wisc was great! You guys are the best.....except 1 guy on mln thread who hates me rightfully for cursing
  4. So what did you come here for? The 8-10 years aren't equivalent though: Minor Leagues (3-6 years) = Definitely Underpaid Minimum MLB (3 years) = Underpaid for Some Arbitration (3 years) = Paid Market The fairest would be to increase Minor League pay so that it actually is consistent with a Traineeship. I made $8000 the first year I was a trainee and $14,000 the last year. Current trainees in my field make ~$25,000. There's plenty of money if you take a fraction of the increase from the bonus money pool and INT FA pool money and a the remainder from the owners pockets. Spread it around so that players in the minors can lead a "normal" life. The other issue is the number of Minimum MLB wage years. Reduce to 2, but make the 2nd year significantly higher *say 3X year 1). The third year converts to arbitration (4 years of arbitration) where players are much closer to making a salary realistic to performance, however, I would remove the clause on reducing the pay by only a fixed percentage - if players way underperform they should get a cut that is proportional. I would even put a clause in where a team has until the end of the first arbitration year to tender a multiyear contract to the player (minimums for the contract could be based on performance of the player through year 2.5 compared to positional average - top third, middle third, bottom third) that covers the arby years or the player is a free agent after 3 arby years. Income here to talk w fans just as I did before I had my job. Your validation doesnt matter to me. Im hoping to educate fans on something many have been fast to blame the players over. If everyone just did a basic collusion wiki wed all be better Thr royal we? Also are you one of those guys that like posting stuff like that on a forum instead of maybe sending a private message to me to handle it? I bet you love alot of free speech just not some. Dont talk to me and ill abide. And no one cares about what I say 99 percent of the time especially feb of 2019 but maybe november of 2021? Thanks

  6. That is what I thought too. Except based on 2018 that would mean only one team is paying the lux tax. If that were the case I would have guess that he would have said something like "29 teams have room under the lux tax to add payroll." I singled out the most eggregious But yeah 28 teams are under. 20 are wayyyyyyy the hell under. Why arent fans mad?
  7. The top 2 players dont have offers from 27 plus clubs. You dont see evidence
  8. Can you elaborate on that please? We know on a factual basis that the Brewers cannot afford another $40 million in payroll? The consequences would be that the Brewers would lose money? With the value of the Brewers increasing $750 million since Mark bought the team, I would beg to differ. But I am open to the contrary point of view THIS TIMES 10 MILLION

  10. 20 teams are 75 mil under the tax threshold and you guys are great with those clubs literally having the ability to sign 2 hall of fame 26 year old talents and not lose money. Any team can sign both and STILL BE UNDER But sure....analytics
  11. You keep pointing out the outliers and adding a giant grain of salt w i know guys need yo get more early....i mean its a paragraph yet an understatement. Its not even disagreeing for its own sake. Telling me just because isnt an answer. 3 times clubs have had fiscal restraint. 3 times it was collusion. Sure though....everyones smarter and the player side is greedy and dumb? You think i dont have the same numbers the clubs do?
  12. Deserves lol Its a job not a merit scholarship Free market says get what you can. Owners make more. Payroll doesnt affect ticket prices. Please dont make me go down this hole.
  13. You act like its a free market. One can always negotiate in terms outside of "the free market" Excellent contribution.
  14. You guys are totally ignoring the cba and labor rights which is .....not helping. DID ANYONE READ MY POST SERIOUSLY SOMEONE PRETEND TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT IS HAPPENING Someone tell me how it isnt even likely????
  15. You guys are totally ignoring the cbs and labor rights which is .....not helping.
  16. I am starting to get the sense both sides really like cake and want to eat it as well. You act like its a free market.
  17. I spelled out 3 timed in history where they did this and reinsdorf is still an owner
  18. I know youre wrong. I also know everything you wrote does NOT excuse collusion.
  19. Oh ok. Glad someone finally figured it out. Whew
  20. Six years of team control is a long time, and it often includes the heart of a player’s prime years of production. I would be curious to know if the players union would trade the opportunity to reduce years of team control if it meant in exchange that long term free agent contracts included less guaranteed money? For example what if teams had just four years of player control, but free agent signings were only guaranteed their initial signing bonus along with their annual contracted dollar value for seasons in which they remained on the 40-man roster. In that type of scenario teams could cut players and rid themselves of the financial commitments for players no longer deemed valuable to the team (or at least as valuable as their remaining contract amount). I don’t think the players union would ever agree to it especially since veterans have a disproportionately heavy influence within the PA, but it would give younger players the opportunity to find fair(ish) market value much earlier in their careers. No
  21. What youre saying and collusion can coexist. It isnt neccessary for this to happen yet here we are. Im saying its possible both are true and owners could use data as a shield. No thoughts on the history of owners foing this including jerry reinsdorf who is still there! Teams want to own guys first 6 years while shafting the back end. They want their cake and eat it too. They wont get both forever. Something is off and its not a natural evolution imo. Im in those rooms and on those calls Its bad
  22. Youd be very wrong to use the word "cheap" for any reason next time.
  23. Would love to discuss here. Basic primer
